I have a desktop computer at work with WINDOWS XP system without internet access. I wanted to use the package I have on my phone (Samsung Ace 4 in the PLUS GSM network) and bought a wifi USB card for my computer. After installing the wifi card, I set the phone in "router" mode but I have no connection - the message "searching for a network address" appears on the bar in the computer. The computer sees my phone as a router and everything looks OK. Earlier I tried to access the net via cable but the situation was identical.
    Please help.

After enabling internet sharing on your phone, you didn't forget to turn on cellular data in your phone to have internet?

The question is, does old windows support encoding of the wireless network that is set on the phone? Windows XP has SP2?

An incorrectly entered password also has such an effect. Try without a password.

I assume that the author of the thread did everything correctly when configuring the connection. Well, of course it can always turn out differently. Let's wait for the interested party in this topic.

Run safe mode + network support and try over the cable again.

CASE SOLVED - you had to change the settings in WINDOWS "Services".
I don't know what exactly because an IT colleague did it.
