    Hello.

I have a problem, because today I fell into the Samsung Galaxy S5 bathtub, it took about 3-5 seconds before I managed to get my hand and fish it out.
About 2 seconds after fished, the phone turned off. I am stupid, I didn't necessarily try to start it right away, unfortunately to no avail.

I dismantled the phone practically to zero to dry the components (water droplets got everywhere, they were also on the motherboard), I put it back together and unfortunately the problem persists.

If the motherboard burned down, I would replace it, but I would have to be sure that it was this part that was damaged. Can you check it somehow at home? I would like to add that when you try to start the phone with the (Power) + (Vol-) button, when I put my ear to it, you can hear cyclical chirps (cycle-cycle-... :D ) The ticking sound is only heard when holding (Power) + (Vol-), it is not audible with Power alone.

What do you think about it, maybe there is someone who had a similar problem? Replacing the plate costs PLN 250, so it is definitely more profitable to replace it than to buy a new phone from a similar shelf. I really care to save him, unless it turns out that it is completely unprofitable.

    I'm counting on your help.

    Greetings :)

In addition, I will be pleased to know how and if it is possible to recover data from the internal memory of this phone.

In your case, go to the GSM service as soon as possible to wash the board and components in isopropanol so that the phone works and you can recover the data. Do you have S5 or S5 NEO ?? The regular S5 is waterproof.

I have a regular S5. It is waterproof, it is true, but I used to replace the USB port in this phone myself, after disassembling and assembling, unfortunately the display was not glued tightly anymore, because I damaged the tape that held it a bit and glued my own pieces of tape. But it seems more to me that the disc flooded due to the fact that the phone was charging and the USB port cap was open, because I did not notice much water under the display.

In terms of cleaning, do you think it will help, can the plate be burnt and it won't do anything anyway?
My brother-in-law has a friend who deals with phone servicing, I'll call tomorrow to ask if he does this cleaning.

PS. Do you know how much they want for such cleaning in a typical service?

Correction, when you try to start the phone with the "Power" button, you can also hear a chirp. In general, I am not sure if it comes from the loudspeaker or from the inside of the phone (short circuit / fuse).

As you write, it may be a vibration that gets little power or is short-circuited and behaves like that. Take the battery out and have the phone serviced to clean it properly.

To replace the motherboard and display, that is, the cost of almost the entire phone :D
