Lenovo T530 Smart Card Reader: Compatible Cards, Bitlocker Unlock, Bank Cards & Software Setup

in the subject of smart cards I am quite green so please support more experienced users.
I was looking for information on the net but unfortunately nothing brings me closer to the expected solutions.

I have a Lenovo T530 laptop with a built-in smart card reader. I would like to use the reader to log into the system and automatically unlock the drives protected with bitlocker.

questions:
- what type of cards is supported by the reader in this laptop? where can you buy such cards?
- can bank cards (chip credit cards) be used? can it be "cleaned" - programmed?
- what software is necessary for this? (it may be Rohos Logon Key for logging in)
- how to configure it all? how to unlock disks encrypted with bitlocker using a card?

I just ask for the instruction "like a cow on a ditch" - for a total layman in this topic

- I understand that the laptop reader is just a reader? you can't program a card with it?
- what type of cards because there are different cards? Is it possible to use an old credit card and reprogram it?
- Please, indicate what kind of programmer is needed and is there any software for it?
