    Welcome.

I have a very unusual problem.

    You'll probably laugh, but it's a fact ...

I bought the SV9386 "One for All" room antenna.
I installed high on the wardrobe in place of the old one which I gave to my grandmother.
(The old dipole directional room antenna in the same place the antenna received everything although with MUX8 sometimes there were problems and you had to turn it slightly to the right to the left - sometimes 1-2 degrees of rotation made a difference)

With the new antenna I found probably the optimal setting because the best quality and signal strength.

And now I have (MUXs received from the Chorągwica transmitter, distance from the transmitter in a straight line of 23 km):

MUX-1 signal strength above 90% quality above 90% stable
MUX-2 signal strength above 90% quality above 90% stable
MUX-3 signal strength above 90% quality above 90% stable

Whereas with MUX-8 there are eggs:
    - when I touch the antenna with a finger power about 85% -90% quality about 90% and stable
    - as I move my hand away from the antenna - strength still 85-90% quality drops to almost 0%

(touching the antenna with your finger does not affect MUXs 1,2 and 3)

The antenna has gain control but reduction of gain has a negative effect on all MUXs.

Anyone have any idea what the reason might be and how could the antenna be modified slightly (can stick, cover, suppress the signal from one side - if so what?)?
Of course, I won't cut my finger off the air to stick it on ;) but maybe someone will come up with something?

    Some magnet? Aluminum foil?

These are not eggs, but physics. By touching the antenna, you become part of it, i.e. change the characteristics of the element. On the VHF (MUX8) range this gives an effect on the receiver, and on UHF - it is imperceptible. Similarly, I have a kitchen radio on VHF - I touch the antenna and the stereo reception switches on. I do not want to be smart, so read something about broadcasting RTV signals. Maybe specialists in radio engineering will prove to be better barbs than me. Krzysztof Podstawa

You bought a very expensive gadget, not an antenna. If you can, return it.

    It is a pity that they wrote DVB-S / S2 / HD / 4K.
What dictates the choice of room antenna? You can't mount a small external antenna?

If it is Zielonki near Krakow, you receive mux-8 from Chorągwica, transmitted in vertical polarization. If you want to receive all muxes stably, you must use the so-called V / H combo antennas or two separate VHF and UHF antennas.

    Thanks for the answers.

I bought the antenna to be honest a bit quickly because when I bought my grandma's TV and I chose the antenna, but she didn't answer my grandmother, I gave her my. I didn't have much time to check it because it was fast and the guest at the store recommended it. In that case, I will return it today, because I have the opportunity to return up to 14 days and maybe I will look somewhere else for the old Dipole as I had or some V / H combo as _kli recommends.

Unfortunately, I don't have an external antenna how to mount it. Until now, peaceful has worked, but I gave it to my grandmother because she is sick and she needed a TV more than I (I watch TV only maybe a moment in the evening before bedtime, or at the weekend) so I can bear it without it.

Buy the ASP-4 antenna and if you have MUX-8 transmitted vertically, set the antenna at an angle of approx. 45 °. You can give without a net. SV9386 'One for All' Room Antenna: Signal Strength and Quality Analysis for MUX-8

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the performance of the SV9386 "One for All" room antenna, particularly in receiving MUX-8 signals from the Chorągwica transmitter, located 23 km away. The user reports strong signal strength and quality for MUX-1, MUX-2, and MUX-3, but experiences instability with MUX-8, which improves when physically touching the antenna. Responses highlight the impact of physical interference on VHF signals, suggest the antenna may not be the best choice, and recommend considering V/H combo antennas or returning the SV9386 for a more suitable option. One user suggests the ASP-4 antenna set at a 45° angle for better reception of vertically polarized MUX-8 signals.
