Building a DIY 3D Printer: Seeking 30x30x30cm Aluminum/Plywood Projects, Free or Paid Options

I would like to build a 3d printer for our small pattern shop.
I would like to build the printer myself. I have a lot of mechanical facilities at home + constant access to a large CNC milling machine.

I am currently looking for projects with a printer with dimensions of about 30x30x30 aluminum or plywood (???)
As long as there is something for free - I am asking for tips where I can find one or if there are actually none - I can buy the project.

Is Mach3 - suitable for controlling such a printer - as long as I find a compatible driver?

Unsuitable. The printer has dedicated firmware such as Repetier or Marlin.
