    Hello dear users!

I have a problem with my LG K8 (K350NDS). I flooded it some time ago, then it was dried and unscrewed. In any case, there were water stains on the motherboard. I cleaned all the contacts with spirit. However, the display did not work - the touch did not work and there were permanent vertical stripes on the display (as in the photo below). I went through a few services and they told me everywhere that the display must be replaced. So I ordered a new one (knowing it was a bit of a risk as the phone was flooded and you don't know what else broke). And after connecting the new one, there are no more vertical stripes on it, but the touch still does not work. What do you think could be broken? Is the entire motherboard, the contacts burned out, or maybe the display came defective? If I bought a used motherboard for this model and connected it to the new display, would such a "folding" work? Thanks for all the answers.

Look for a new motherboard. It is possible to diagnose a fault, but it will be time-consuming, and you are still not sure that there will be no further failures in the near future. Greetings!

First, send photos of the motherboard as it is.

The disc looks decently cleaned. It is possible that the set you have purchased is defective. You would have to replace it with another one.

Thank you for your answer. I will also ask if the replacement is complicated and requires some special equipment or is a screwdriver enough?

All you need is a screwdriver and some plastic pry pen. If you have concerns, there are many videos on youtube on how to dismantle the device.

Colleagues, let me hook up to the topic.
What's wrong with these alle displays?
I have a broken screen - the display is poured - today I called the GSM service and they want the original 300 PL. Apart from the fact that the dude could not explain to me what the original is - because I have a Chinese tela - from PL Playa distribution - what this display is for Chinese phone-american?
For PLN 300 more, I will buy this "flagship" almost a new one.
Alle are displays for PLN 130 complete - something is wrong with them?

The price offered by the website is probably the price including assembly. Original LCDs are also made in China, and the comparison is the same as you can buy a kilogram of something in a Polish store for a price of x and buy a kilogram of something the same for a higher price. Read carefully the listing descriptions of these cheap LCDs (what delivery time, and buyers' feedback on what condition it comes in and how it works).

    Thanks for the answer
So in general, I can get the same display - Chinese or "more Chinese" - from this conclusion there is no rule. Only the price is different.
The product may be the same.
As for comments - after all, you will not learn anything - if someone sells 2,000 items, in the past you could send an email to someone who bought something, asking how it works.
Today, it is not because it is not in the interest of alle - whether you sell or someone buys, they take commissions - and when you sell shit and the news about it - they lose their earnings.
Okay, that is, you have to buy and change it yourself (and I wanted to let someone earn) because the amount knocked me out.
Oh, and the guy pointed out that you need to change the entire screen in this model (I have to change anyway because my display has flown) - which is probably a lie, because there are videos on YT how they change the window itself, e.g.

FAQ

TL;DR: Most LG K8 K350N/K350NDS screen swaps are doable with 2 tools; “All you need is a screwdriver and some plastic pry pen.” [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16792483]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps DIYers diagnose no-touch after replacement, choose parts, estimate cost, and avoid repeat failures.

Quick Facts

How do I fix LG K8 touch not working after screen replacement?

Rule out a bad assembly first. Re-seat connectors, then test a second full display set. If still dead, suspect board-level touch circuitry damaged by earlier liquid. Many choose a motherboard swap to save time. “You would have to replace it with another one.” [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16781537]

Does the LG K8 K350N display fit the K350NDS version?

Yes, the K350N display is confirmed to fit the K350NDS. This came from a technician’s reply in the thread: “It will fit.” Compatibility covers the complete display assembly for a straightforward swap. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16791236]

What tools do I need to replace the LG K8 screen at home?

You need only a small screwdriver and a plastic pry tool. No heat plate or microscope is required for a basic assembly swap. “All you need is a screwdriver and some plastic pry pen.” That’s the fastest, lowest‑risk approach for DIYers. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16792483]

Is a motherboard swap a good idea after water damage?

Yes, if liquid exposure occurred, a board swap can beat hours of fault‑finding. It avoids hidden, creeping failures. One expert noted diagnosis is time‑consuming and reliability remains uncertain afterward. This tradeoff favors a known‑good board. [Elektroda, mahamalak, post #16773637]

Could my new display be defective if touch still doesn’t work?

Yes. Even clean boards can pair with a faulty replacement assembly. The recommended next step is trying another complete set before deeper repairs. That isolates screen defects from logic‑board faults. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16781537]

How hard is the LG K8 screen replacement for beginners?

It’s beginner‑friendly if you swap the complete assembly. Use a screwdriver and plastic pry tool; follow a teardown video for guidance. No special equipment is required for the assembly route. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16792483]

What did the original poster observe after replacing the screen?

Vertical stripes disappeared on the new display, but touch still failed. That pattern suggests the LCD panel works while the touch path is faulty. It points to a bad assembly or touch‑line damage. [Elektroda, Damianzaj, post #16772918]

How much should I budget for an LG K8 screen replacement?

One user reported an “original” screen quote around PLN 300 at a service shop. That likely includes assembly and labor. DIY parts listed cheaper online vary in quality and delivery. [Elektroda, flatron316, post #16857333]

Are cheap marketplace displays okay for the LG K8?

Quality varies. Read listing details, delivery times, and buyer feedback to gauge condition and performance. Some low‑cost units arrive with issues. An expert advised scrutinizing the descriptions carefully before purchase. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16857833]

Should I replace only the glass or the entire display module?

Videos show glass‑only swaps, but they are riskier and labor‑intensive. The thread context leans toward full module replacement, especially when the LCD or touch is compromised. [Elektroda, flatron316, post #16859310]

What’s an edge case after water damage I should watch for?

Even with a clean board and new screen, touch can remain unresponsive due to latent corrosion. This failure mode mimics a bad display. If a second assembly fails too, plan for a board swap. [Elektroda, mahamalak, post #16773637]

Can I post photos for diagnosis before buying parts?

Yes. Clear motherboard photos help others spot corrosion, missing components, or connector damage. A technician specifically requested board photos to assist. Good lighting and close‑ups are ideal. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16774509]

Quick how-to: swap the LG K8 display safely

  1. Power off, remove back cover and battery.
  2. Unscrew and pry the midframe; disconnect the display flex.
  3. Install the new assembly, reconnect, reassemble, and test touch. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16792483]

What does a 'defective set' mean in this context?

It refers to a faulty replacement display assembly (LCD+touch) that passes video but fails touch. The fix is exchanging it for another unit. This isolates screen defects from motherboard issues. [Elektroda, KRY5PIN, post #16781537]

Any statistic from the thread that informs my decision?

A service quote of about PLN 300 for an “original” screen set a baseline. Compare that to DIY parts pricing to decide. Factor your time and potential returns. [Elektroda, flatron316, post #16857333]
