    Hello.
Recently, I got a HDMI 1.4 10m cable from a friend and I wanted to connect a computer with a TV. The computer responds normally and divides the desktop into 2 screens, but the TV has no HDMI signal. I thought the cable was damaged, so I went to a friend, we checked it and it worked normally. He also lent me an HDMI cable (more expensive) 3m and (cheaper with a ladybug for PLN 20) 5m. On these cables my TV worked normally, but on this 10m I can not see the signal. I connected this cable to 3 HDMI connectors on the TV and nothing else. I have the drivers installed from the nvidi website. In my computer I have 2 Windows 7 and Kubuntu 16.04 systems and in each system detects the device, but the TV still has no signal.

My graphics card: GeForce GTX 970 4GB Gaming
    TV: Samsung UE43J5500
Colleagues graphics card GeForce 9600GT 1GB
    TV: Samsung UE32M5602

The signal loss per 10m HDMI cable is too high in this case - computer-> TV connection.
This cable may work with other devices (e.g. a friend) that generate a stronger signal.

Not much can be advised here.
Usually at such distances it is either:
    - much better quality cable
    or
    - HDMI repeater (repeater). Such an amplifier should have been connected halfway between devices.
So in this case a good solution would be a 2 x 5m HDMI cable and a signal amplifier.

From what I understood, is my graphics generating a weaker signal or the TV needs a stronger signal to display the image?
Alternatively, can you make such an amplifier yourself or is it not profitable and better to buy?

That's exactly what I meant by writing my entry.

    I can not answer.
I'm afraid that making an HDMI amplifier at home can be difficult.
Example of an amplifier -> link
