    Hello
I plan to install win xp on a new 850 pro ssd (256GB).

What cluster size should be set after creating the partition before formatting in NTFS - must it be 4KB or can it be any?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Read about TRIM, XP and SSD is a very bad idea, and the victim will be the disk itself.

Create partitions from a newer operating system (7,8,10) and if you have the option to switch SATA mode in AHCI - you may need to integrate the drivers with the XP installation disc.

    Hello.
I'd rather use google and check if win xp supports this type of disk (SSD). :D
    best regards

I read a lot of articles and topics on the forums regarding xp on ssd and I know that this system is not optimized for ssd drives (despite this, a lot of people use or use it on such a disk with positive results).

The only thing that I still do not know completely is the cluster size I mentioned at the beginning which should be set when formatting the partition, I came across conflicting information: some say that it is necessary to set 4KB, others that it is best to set the default.

Can anyone tell me what cluster to set up?

ps. Partition planning and alignment plans to do with the gparted program, regarding ahci - I'm currently using this mode, integrated drivers
