Hello, this is my first post on the forum so please be understanding.
I bought a 3x5m tin garage, I would like to insulate it with polystyrene soon and put a panel board on it, the garage will be heated occasionally.
My question is whether there must be a space between the sheet and polystyrene?
And if I insulate such a garage, the water will not condense in it?

Buddy, the dew point will always be there. You can't avoid it. Glue the polystyrene to the sheet on the panels and it should be approx.

So the distance from the sheet does not have to be?

There is something like PUR foam, maybe it's a better solution, or Polynor - something similar. I'm going to tinker with a carport and I'm wondering about it.

You have not written whether it is an ordinary (simple, flat) sheet or profiled sheet. Usually garages are made of profiled type, then you stick polystyrene directly to it and there will be ventilation.

It is a trapezoidal sheet and I did not want to stick the polystyrene, just make a frame to insert polystyrene into it

You can too, but it is more laborious.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around insulating a 3x5m tin garage using polystyrene and panel board, with concerns about condensation and the necessity of spacing between the insulation and the metal sheet. It is noted that condensation will occur due to the dew point, and polystyrene can be glued directly to the sheet. However, some participants suggest creating a frame for the polystyrene instead of direct adhesion, which is more labor-intensive. The type of sheet (trapezoidal) is also mentioned, indicating that ventilation is important in the insulation process.
