Hello, I have a problem with port forwarding for hamachi, tunggle or any other such programs, namely I want to play a game with friends (let's take minecraft for example). Well, Minecraft needs to open port 25565, and the appropriate ports for Hamachi, all redirected to the router, supported by portforward.com. After unblocking ports on hamachi I can ping with others and others can with me, which means everything should work fine. However, I have an intermediate tunnel with all other users. After using the built-in diagnostics of the above mentioned program I receive the following message:

    Peer results: [208-910-928]
    Adapter configuration: OK (OK)
Traffic test: Inbound traffic blocked, check firewall settings

Of course, the firewall on my computer and router is turned off completely, using a program to test (from portforward), whether the ports are correctly configured and redirecting correctly, an error message pops up:

Your port is NOT OPEN or not reacheable!

I have no idea how to force it all to work or how to bypass it, so that I could put game servers on the computer, e.g. without Hamachi intermediaries.

Do you have a public IP on WAN? If so, why this shit Hamachi?
Give screen the status of the router.
Correctly, first assign your PC in the tab LAN> DHCP you assign static IP by MAC, then redirect the external port (Virtual servers or port forwarding) 25565 to the internal 25565 to the address you previously assigned to your PC. (To get this address you need to disconnect and connect to the router again)

On WAN I do not have a public IP, I have an LTE modem connected to the router, so the WAN address is the modem address (192.168.8.1). As for port forwarding, I did exactly as you say, in many different ways. A static ip address is also assigned to the computer.

Without a public IP on the router's WAN, redirection just doesn't work. Everything is blocked on the provider's firewall.

Orange. So most likely the fault lies with the provider, so is there any other way to put a server on this internet? Can orange somehow get along with it?

Okay, I'll do it and let me know if everything works as it should, the last question, namely better to take a dynamic or static address? And how to check which address I have assigned?

Dynamic. You will configure on your DDNS device to have your domain address and assign IP variables to a static domain. This option works fine for me. In addition, it is much cheaper.
    What router do you have

I activated the dynamic public address in orange, set apn to vps as you said, now I have a question how to assign it to DDNS and set it to work properly

Problem solved, orange VPN did the trick

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around issues with port forwarding for Hamachi, Tunggle, and Minecraft on a router. The user is attempting to set up a Minecraft server that requires port 25565 to be open. Despite configuring port forwarding and assigning a static IP to their PC, they encounter problems due to the lack of a public IP on their WAN, as they are using an LTE modem. Responses suggest that without a public IP, port redirection will not work due to the provider's firewall. The user is advised to contact their ISP (Orange) to enable VPN access and consider using Dynamic DNS (DDNS) for better management of their IP address. Ultimately, the user resolves the issue by enabling Orange's VPN service.

FAQ

TL;DR: If your router’s WAN doesn’t have a public IP, 0 port forwards will work; “Without a public IP… redirection just doesn’t work.” [Elektroda, jimasek, post #16983840]

Why it matters: This FAQ shows gamers how to fix LTE/CGNAT port-forwarding so friends can join Minecraft or similar servers.

Quick Facts

How do I fix port forwarding for Minecraft when using an LTE modem?

Get a public IP first. Call your operator (e.g., Orange) and request the VPN APN (vps/vpnbb). Reboot the modem, verify the router’s WAN shows a public IP, then forward 25565 to your PC’s reserved LAN IP. Test externally. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16983856]

Why does Hamachi say “Inbound traffic blocked” even with my firewall off?

Your router’s WAN sits behind the provider’s firewall/CGNAT, so unsolicited inbound traffic never reaches you. Local firewalls don’t matter when upstream blocks it. “Without a public IP… redirection just doesn’t work.” [Elektroda, jimasek, post #16983840]

How can I tell if I have a public IP on WAN?

Open your router’s status page. If the WAN address looks private (e.g., 192.168.x.x) from an LTE modem, you’re not public. That indicates upstream NAT/CGNAT, so forwarding fails until the ISP changes it. [Elektroda, Hogohin, post #16983835]

What APN should I ask Orange for to host a server?

Ask support to enable the VPN APN for your subscription and provide the APN name (e.g., vps or vpnbb). Set that APN on your modem/router, then reboot and re-check WAN IP. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16983856]

Do I need Hamachi or Tunngle if I have a public IP?

No. With a public WAN IP, reserve your PC’s LAN IP and forward port 25565. Direct connections work without overlay VPNs like Hamachi or Tunngle. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16983776]

Which port does Minecraft server use by default?

Minecraft Java Edition uses TCP 25565 by default. Forward external 25565 to internal 25565 on your game PC’s LAN IP. [Elektroda, Hogohin, post #16983730]

How do I reserve a static LAN IP before forwarding?

In your router, use DHCP reservation: bind your PC’s MAC to a chosen LAN IP. Reconnect the PC so it receives that IP, then create the port-forward rule to that address. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16983776]

Dynamic vs static public IP for hosting—what’s better here?

Use a dynamic public IP plus DDNS. It’s cheaper, and your router maps a fixed hostname to changing IPs automatically. Configure DDNS on the router. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16983894]

How do I set up DDNS on an ASUS RT‑AC51U?

Use ASUS DDNS in the router GUI. 1) Sign in, open WAN > DDNS. 2) Choose ASUS DDNS and create a hostname. 3) Apply, then use that hostname for friends to connect. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16985162]

My setup is LTE modem + router. Why does port forwarding still fail?

That stack creates double NAT: LTE modem private subnet feeds your router’s WAN. The outer NAT drops unsolicited inbound, so your router’s forwards never trigger. Get a public IP via the VPN APN. [Elektroda, Hogohin, post #16983835]

What is CGNAT, and why does it break hosting?

CGNAT places many users behind the provider’s NAT and firewall. Your router lacks a public IP, so inbound connections cannot initiate to you. Forwarding rules on your router don’t help. [Elektroda, jimasek, post #16983840]

How can I verify the fix worked after switching APN?

Check router WAN shows a public IP, then run an external port test against 25565 while the server is running. Your friends should connect by DDNS or IP. [Elektroda, Hogohin, post #18723907]

Hamachi shows code [208-910-928]—what does that indicate?

That diagnostic appears with an intermediate tunnel and blocked inbound traffic. It matches ISP-side blocking seen with CGNAT before enabling a public IP. [Elektroda, Hogohin, post #16983730]

Edge case: I forwarded the port, but it still closes after a reboot—why?

Your PC likely received a different LAN IP from DHCP. The rule points to the old address. Reserve the IP by MAC, then reboot and retest. [Elektroda, makosuu, post #16983776]

Is there a proven success path for Orange LTE users?

Yes. The thread confirms enabling Orange’s VPN APN, obtaining a dynamic public IP, then using DDNS on an ASUS router resolved hosting fully. [Elektroda, Hogohin, post #18723907]
