Hello, I am the owner of Volkswagen Fox 1.2 petrol 2006. When the frost is greater and I just leave the block, the esp indicator and check engine light up. The engine starts jerking, it won't be possible to keep going and I have to turn the car off and start again. Then everything is ok. I replaced the candles with new ones. The computer does not show any errors. I checked the pressure on the pistons, 9.5 on all three. What could be the reason? Thanks for the help.

What, buddy, did you do diagnostics?
And ESP turns off, not on.

there is no such option if the engine light is on. Misfire, if the spark plugs are new there may be a coil.

Check the accelerator pedal sensor. He is guilty of the check engine and epc. I understand that when these controls appear, there is no power. Everything returns to normal when the engine is turned off.

I did a computer diagnostics at the mechanic's (I don't know the computer) again and it showed that the ignition falls out on the first cylinder.
I bought one new coil and replaced it on each cylinder, but the problem keeps arising.

You need to change the mechanic to one who has a diagnostic device for VW cars. Most likely, he connected a universal scanner that cannot read codes from other modules. And here it may be important what other modules signal, because they can force the engine power reduction

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2006 Volkswagen Fox 1.2 petrol experiencing issues with the ESP indicator and check engine light activating during cold weather, leading to engine jerking and power loss. The owner has replaced spark plugs and checked piston pressure, but the problem persists. Responses suggest potential causes including a faulty accelerator pedal sensor, ignition coil issues, and the need for proper diagnostics with a VW-specific scanner to identify underlying module signals affecting engine performance.
