    Dear Users,

I have a problem with smart tv. Since changing the router in December 2017: wifi disconnects every few / several / several dozen minutes. It asks for a password for the network. After entering the password, it works again until the next time. This happens several times during one movie and you have to enter the wifi password each time. Nothing like this happens on other devices, such as tablets, laptops or phones.

    Samsung UE40F6400AWXXH TV
    TP Link WR1043ND v.4 router
    40mega Internet.

I have had a TV for about 5-6 years and there have never been such problems. The same internet provider for 7 years. I have had a router for a month and the tv with the router never worked properly. We changed the router because the old one was 7 years old and we had very poor internet speed on it.

I have the latest software for both devices, I have restarted the TV to factory settings. We tried to disable wps. Did not help.

I will be grateful for your help!
    Thank you in advance,
    Kate.

    Hello,
maybe the most important question is what is the configuration of the router?
without it we won't be able to help.
It looks to me that you have a refresh or an address assignment or password valid for just one hour.
Compare the settings for the IP of the TV and other devices where there is a difference.
I don't know the TV model, maybe it also has something in its settings.
I have set a fixed IP for TV without expiration.
    best regards

    Heyo!

what exactly do you ask about the router configuration? in the sense of which settings? I can rewrite what I have.

if the configuration was for an hour, it would eject every hour and probably from every device and not just from the TV?

    thank you!
    Kate.

    Hello,
I don't know this router so well that I can set the password validity for each device or its IP, so I ask. Go to the settings and check exactly what are related to the IP of the TV and maybe compare them with a tablet that does not disconnect and you will see what the problem is.

Unfortunately, I do not see this option in my router.
I also have a new observation, if I disconnect all other devices from wifi, then the smart tv is the only device using wifi at the moment - it works without a problem. Today I tested for 6 hours and it went flawlessly. As soon as I slept with the wifi tablet, after a dozen or so minutes I was fired from the TV and asked for a password. Anyone have an idea?
    Thank you
    K.

    Hello,
without knowing the router configuration, we can only assume that the last remark suggests that you may have too small pool of addresses to assign.
How I asked you to compare the settings for TV and this tablet, where is the difference?
    best regards

I wrote that it is not possible to set such data / comparison, because there are no such tabs in the router.
    I described a new symptom, it's not a guesswork.

    Hello,
if I do not see the configuration, I can remember that every new router has the option of approaching the configuration, for example, do you have DHCP enabled? check who has connected, what is the address and validity, e.g. password, connection time, etc. such data is provided by every router, I mean comparing such parameters between the one that works properly and what disconnects.
Another suggestion is to "rigidly" set the connection parameters and IP with the TV, force a continuous connection.
If you are not sure what I am asking, you can ask someone for help.
    best regards

    Hi!

You have successfully solved your problem
I have the same with my Samsung tv :(
(best of all, if I turn on tv youtube it will work all day without a problem, while on TVOD or Demotywatorach it will disconnect from wifi after an accidental time and to reconnect you have to enter the wifi password or turn off the tv and then it will connect without the password :(
