    Hello,

I am asking for help, because I have a problem with connecting the washing machine drain to my apartment, which I recently moved into. I enclose a schematic photo of how the bathroom looks:

Connecting Washing Machine Drain to Sink Siphon: Long Distance and Flow Issues

The problem is that the washing machine is on the opposite side to the sewer. The water goes through a long hose from under the sink, where a tee with two valves is connected. The drain is worse. Is it possible to connect the washing machine under the sink siphon in a long (about 3 meter) hose in such conditions? If so, won't there be a problem with the flow of water? Since the washing machine is very far away and the hose will have to go up significantly at the end of its path, will there be a problem with draining water from the washing machine? Can the pump manage?

The easiest solution would be to connect the washing machine to the bath siphon, but unfortunately I cannot pull the bath out too much, and access to the siphon and the duct is very difficult.

    Please help.

    best regards
    Cuba

Welcome. 3m is not a long distance, the washing machine will cope easily. As for height, manufacturers recommend that the drain hose be at a height of 60-70cm

So it remains to throw the hose through the bathtub and drain water into it or buy a pipe (there are special extension cords), place it next to the bathtub and bring it to the sink.

Thanks for the answer. You mean such a flexible pipe, right? So normal for a washing machine?

Do you think that the washing machine will manage to pump water through such a long extension cord, which at the end goes up and will not have any "backflow"?

Look around the walls at a height of about 70 cm from the floor, is there perhaps a blind drain in the wall specifically for the washing machine? Usually near chimney shafts if they exist.

Unfortunately, there is none ... I checked it quite thoroughly and found nothing

Cofka will always be but only on the section from the siphon to the floor so it's not much, maybe a glass of water.

Why don't you want to hang the hose with the elbow that comes with the washing machine on the bathtub?

    This is a long distance.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of connecting a washing machine drain to a sink siphon over a long distance of approximately 3 meters. The user is concerned about the potential flow issues due to the height and length of the hose. Responses indicate that a 3-meter distance is manageable for washing machines, provided the drain hose is positioned at a height of 60-70 cm. Suggestions include using a flexible extension pipe or hanging the hose over the bathtub to facilitate drainage. Concerns about backflow and the washing machine's ability to pump water through the extended hose are addressed, with reassurance that modern washing machines can handle such setups, although some water accumulation may occur if the hose is elevated.
