    Good morning,

    as the topic. I need a quiet, relatively fast laptop for work and everyday use, i.e. music, movies, office, etc. I care about the comfort of work, so it's probably good not to be overloaded with components. My current laptop is overheating and is loud. I want a good price-quality ratio.

    My preferences:
    - quiet and low temperatures (necessary)
    - minimum screen 15.6 (necessary)
    - good display, preferably full hd and good sound quality - in terms of movies and music (important)
    - island keyboard, because I will write a lot on it, and I'm used to it (optional)


    It can be new or used equipment, new at a price of, say, up to PLN 1,500, and used below PLN 1,000.

    What can you recommend to me?

    At this price, maybe some macbook pro will buy a drug. The compromise is the installation of 2 systems as Mac and Windows. The aluminum housing should be ok so you should like the design. As for the battery on a Mac system, the battery about 6-8 hours obviously depends on many factors. You should also like the weight and quality of the RETINA display, e.g.
    I personally use macbookpro 13 and many will probably criticize me because I mainly use Windows on it :)

    Can I count on high quality video on the integrated graphics card, or is it better to buy a dedicated one? And if so, which one? Are 4GB RAM and an Intel i5 processor sufficient? how to choose these components at all, so that the laptop works relatively quietly, efficiently and does not heat up? what to look at in this case?

    As for passive cooling, I do not have such requirements, but thanks for the suggestion. The thing is that he currently owned the Dell Insiron N1115, which I was warming from the beginning. I want to avoid it this time. There is an i3, two graphics cards: integrated and some geforce, 4 GB of RAM - average parameters even for the time in which I bought it (2012).

    I am looking for a laptop to work, watch movies and listen to music. NOT for playing or video editing, or any other graphic work. Nevertheless, I care about image quality.

    Hmmm what I can suggest is that not necessarily the laptop's heating is caused by its construction parameters, because some process in windows may also load the processor and the laptop will always warm up more than others that are not loaded. We know the quality of the graphics card affects the image so it's nice to have something with gforce and to have something to watch something in 4k on an external monitor without buttons, or if you feel like playing a game. So from experience I will tell you that if you do not care too much about the integrated graphics cards like to rain because inadvertently just knee the air inlet, leave the blanket, a blocked fan, or after a demanding game quickly turn off the computer without leaving it for a while to cool down So it's nice to have a dedicated graphics card because even during its failure it is enough to replace it just which is very simple and quick than giving your laptop to replace the whole graphics system or rebbaling the graphics system.

    As for the amount of ram - the greater the number of open programs at the same time or the more complicated programs, the more RAM is needed. For office work 4GB is enough calmly I have 4 in desktop 16gb. Its frequency and the so-called timing marked with the symbol CL are also important.     In Macbook I have a 250gb Samsung Evo 850 + HDD Samsung 512 Gb SSD instead of a drive, 4 gb ram graphics gforce 512 mb integrated and only 2 core processor and I do not replace the paw because I do not need more because if I need it I use a desktop, e.g. under 4k games e.t.c.
    On the current one I can easily edit a movie in FinalCut, listen to music, watch movies in 1080p.
    The win 10 system from the SSD starts for about 20s. with hibernation enabled, of course, the time is reduced by up to 5s.
    So it is worth thinking whether it is worth changing and investing, for example, or you will not use its potential or the difference will be hardly noticeable. You can see for yourself that there is something to think about. For the sake of comparison, you can see YouTube videos of the same laptop with HDD and SSD and you will see the differences in the very startup of the system.

    The overwhelming majority of dedicated graphics cards are permanently soldered to the motherboard. Removable cards are used in laptops for gaming / workstations, several thousand each.

    As for the disk, I also care about the capacity (currently 750GB is not enough), and SDD is more expensive and I will probably not find 1T in this price range. Would the SSD + HDD option be a better option? I can also buy 256 GB and store some data, e.g. on an external disk.

    The adapter costs several dozen zlotys (30-40 zlotys). I'm looking for a friend under the name "HDD Caddy".
    I had problems with this adapter (transmission errors) but I made my own based on the original connector from the DVD drive.

    SSD + HDD standard is 120GB SSD and HDD is as much as a colleague wants (usually the easiest way to translate the original HDD). Buying a laptop with SSD is a waste of money because they add a lot of money for such a disk. It is better to buy it yourself and put the original HDD in place of the DVD.
    I have Crucial MX100 256GB + 1TB WD Blue (originally it was).

    The problem with these U-terminated processors is that they are permanently soldered.
