GoodRAM Iridium PRO 240GB vs GoodRAM IRDM 240GB test/benchmark

Referring to https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3416340.html - where I previously measured the speed of IRDM 240GB - I measured on the same computer, with the same programs and with the same settings Iridium PRO 240GB drive. I put the comparison of these disks next to me.

Left side - Iridium PRO, right side - IRDM.



Test on MSI Z97-G43 motherboard, AHCI driver from Intel (older version), Pentium G3258 processor after delicate OC to 4.5 GHz.

How it works - you can see on the results, in total looking at the technologies used in disks, you would expect that Iridium PRO will be much more efficient, while these benchmarks show that IRDM on theoretically a lot weaker controller is doing quite well.

In fact, there is nothing to be particularly tense about this PRO, unless it still has a 5 year warranty as it once was.

The PRO version still has a 5-year warranty, IRDM is 3 years old.

Set a 10 GB data sample, because the cache / pseudocache test is moderately useful. And it is best to measure the time of copying a very large file (> 30 GB).

A larger sample will definitely show the "disadvantages" of drives, whose performance is based largely on cache memory, it can not be denied. On the other hand, in real use, it is uncommon to make entries of such amounts of information without interruption. That's why I chose fairly low values.
