Hello, today I got a laptop with the error "No bootable device" and a password for bios. The password from the bios has been removed, the bios can see the hard drive connected, but when you try to boot the system and install a new one, this error is still displayed with no device with the system. I read that you need to change Boot Mode from "uefi" to "legacy", but for me this option cannot be entered and it is set to "uefi".

What and what are you trying to boot from? Once that is settled, it will be easier later.

As part of the supporting questions: Are you sure that there was an OS on the disk? - Its absence would explain the reaction to an attempt to boot from HDD (SSD).

As in the topic, Acer Aspire ES 15, unfortunately I do not know the year of production.

    Added after 16 [minutes]:

Year of production 2016, the system is on a pendrive, it was formatted to fat32, then the system image was loaded with the Ultra ISO program. As for the disk system it is (checked on another laptop)

Edit. Sorry, I was fooled by the name on the box. The model is ASPIRE ES1-533

If the password was removed without knowing it (deleted), then the disk most likely remained password protected. Laptops often put a password on both the BIOS and the disk. Removing the password from the BIOS with a generator renders the disk useless. Check on another computer that the disk is discoverable and that it is not locked with an ATA password.

Even before cracking the bios password, there was this "No bootable device" error. I cracked the password to enter the bios and change the boot order. Oddly enough, even when I set booting from a pendrive, there is also this error and the new installation of the system does not start

Check the disk in another computer. If you have UEFI (and Secure Boot is probably still enabled), you will not boot from an MBR flash drive.

It's under uefi how do i have to boot the pendrive? What program do you recommend?
Anyone know why the "Boot Mode" option is locked and I can't change to Legacy?

Probably because you have Secure Boot enabled.

When I disable it, it will save the settings and reset the laptop, it is still locked

They write everywhere on foreign forums that in order to get rid of "No bootable device" you have to change to Legacy

You're not the only one who has a problem with this laptop. From what I found out, it can only be used with UEFI, after updating the BIOS to 1.07 there is no Legacy option anymore. You can prepare a bootable GPT / UEFI flash drive using the RUFUS program. You can install Windows 8 or 10 without "magic", apparently you can also install Ubuntu.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around an Acer Aspire ES 15 (model ES1-533) experiencing a "No bootable device" error after a BIOS password was removed. The user confirmed that the hard drive is recognized in BIOS, but attempts to boot from a USB drive containing a system image also fail. The user seeks to switch the Boot Mode from UEFI to Legacy, but finds the option locked, likely due to Secure Boot being enabled. Other participants suggest checking the hard drive on another computer and using a bootable GPT/UEFI flash drive created with RUFUS. It is noted that after a BIOS update to version 1.07, the Legacy option may no longer be available, indicating that the laptop is designed to operate primarily in UEFI mode.
