    Hello,
I'll admit right away that I know absolutely nothing about computers. Some system updates etc have been done on my Acer Nitro 5 laptop. After turning on the laptop, this screen is shown. I don't know what to do next. Is the system still where it was and is everything that was on the disks still there? Please help me quickly!

And how could I get in there, any commands to enter?

I need a password to enter the bios, but I don't know what it is. There are some generators of these passwords but I don't trust them too much.

I have one more question, should I do this? Refreshing the system by turning the laptop on and off. Would this help me and would the laptop then turn on normally, i.e. straight to windows?

You mean reset BIOS settings? I don't think anything here will help.
    EDIT.
Did you have a BIOS password already set up?
Does the F12 key (boot menu call) work?
Do you remember exactly that update that damaged your computer?
    Was it a BIOS update?

I don't remember these updates anymore. I talked to a friend who knows a bit about this and he said that this update kicked the startup files from the system. And even refreshing the system, i.e. I wrote earlier, nothing can be done because it simply does not fire.

Agreement. Booting the system does not work, but where did the BIOS password come from?
    I found a solution but it's hopeless.
There are threads online with the same problem.
One guy ripped his important files from a hard drive somewhere to another computer.
Disk physically disconnected from the 'broken' pc and connected to another.
After rescuing the data, he performed a 'system restore with data loss' using Acer's built-in recovery.
So actually the so-called 'format c:'.
The worst possible solution. Probably different,
the only question is how much faster...

Well, thank you anyway for the response, I close the post, and rather put a new system from the flash drive.

Setting up, repair using a system downloaded to a flash drive.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around an Acer Nitro 5 laptop that is encountering an EFI Shell issue after system updates. The user is uncertain about accessing the BIOS/UEFI settings due to a password requirement and is concerned about data loss. Responses suggest checking the BIOS settings and using the F12 key for the boot menu. A potential solution involves disconnecting the hard drive to recover important files before performing a system restore, which may result in data loss. Ultimately, the user decides to install a new operating system from a flash drive as a resolution.
