    Hello,
The dishwasher after about half a year showed an error I50 (unfortunately I can not take advantage of the warranty despite the new equipment), I took off the covers all dry. According to information found on the forum, the error appears when the main engine is running at max. speed. Tomorrow I will dismantle the motor and check all contacts, apparently the reason may be a triac on the plate or is this plate in the motor at its back (black housing)? You have to dismantle the engine to get to it?
Thank you in advance for the information...

Are you sure this is an i50 error? The displayed code is not an error code.

In this dishwasher, the user only displays the start code of the alarm group, so i50 means that the error belongs to this group of errors - this is not the designation of the error code itself, it means nothing. To be able to find out the last remembered error code, enter service mode - a welcome service for repairing this dishwasher.
i50 is the information that should be given to the service called to repair the dishwasher.
After a new series dishwasher is repaired, always carry out - LEDTest and LineTest .

PS A new innovative equipment has been encouraged. Most likely, this year, and certainly next year, error codes in new models of home appliances can only be deleted using the service interface. Simple inverter repair will not be possible, very difficult.

The whole i5x litany of errors is related to:
    - current measurements on an asynchronous motor
    - Vbat voltages
    - short circuit on engine
    - MCU failure
    - DCLink or Vbat voltage measurements of the analog-to-digital converter

The Vbat voltage is used to measure motor resistance

For example, several errors of the i50 group (the meaning of the error code depends on the software platform - various damage symptoms on different software platforms):

i58 - An alarm occurs when, based on current measurement, it remains
incorrect motor connection detected. If the current does not exceed the set range (+/- 21 mA), a reflection time of 1.5 s is set
    - An alarm with this code can also occur after a phase loss or damage to the motor winding

    i5A
o An internal warning appears when, based on internal calculations, an exceeded standard temperature limit is detected based on the measured current values (200 ° C with a 40-degree margin due to the measurement method and calculation tolerances).
o The warning threshold is 200 - 70 (max. Temperature inside the dishwasher) - 10 (activation margin) = 120 ° C. The warning level is given.
o If a warning occurs, the motor stops and a new winding resistance calculation is made. In this way, the actual temperature can be calculated - the temperature calculation is based on the reference winding resistance of the motor at 22 ° C.
    - an alarm is generated when the value is higher than the threshold value of 178 ° C (200 - 22).
It should be remembered that the alarm is reset by the MCB after verification by the main electronic system.

    i5B
o An alarm occurs if the current level does not change within 2.5 s less than 0.0275 A for the washing pump.
o An alarm occurs if the current level does not change within 0.5 s less than 0.03363 A with an emptying pump.
    o On a 7-segment display "B" can be displayed as "H"

I repeat the displayed errors, among others dishwashers type i10 i20 i30 i40 i50 i60 are not error codes. The dishwasher informs us from which group the error was saved to the processor's memory. The error code can be read after entering the service mode.

This is a question for Electrolux. Such information cannot be given without the consent of Electrolux Polska.
I'm sorry. If you call a competent service - it will repair your dishwasher.
The policy of companies including Whirlpool or Electrolux has changed - in a word, the era of "extermination" of self-repairers is slowly entering.

You have enough tips to repair this dishwasher without problems - as long as you have the right knowledge.

There is also such a symptom that when I start it, it can be heard as if a relay tried to switch something on (popping) after a few attempts, an error turns on and 5 beeps (i50). Maybe this is something I will direct and you will give me more tips I will try next week to fail a website.

I bought because of the low operating costs, although they said in the store that it is not the same quality as they used to be, I have an older model from 15 years so far I replaced the heater and the door seal last year, and so trouble-free. Somehow I lost both the card and the receipt, I have only instructions.

I will be grateful for any hints.

Can the reason be a three-way valve, or is it unlikely after the error code? I checked the pump's asynchronous motor, there is no breakdown, two were not connected for a short time because the motor has information that the input voltage is 200V, is it possible or just a Chinese sticker error?

Thank you for specific advice on the electronic forum that I also did not think to remember, having no documents, which March or April I bought the equipment or in the store where the cash register itself (there is no computer system) will find a receipt from the cash register for a period of 2 months. I needed such advice ...

Dude, can you describe how this story ended? I have identical symptoms in Electrolux ESL8336RO - I lost 11 days after the warranty period :-(

    thanks

Hello. The problem with the i50 error is as follows. First remove the washing pump and check that there is no axial play. Before disassembling anything, turn on the test (calibration ///) and check that and 50 is always turned on at the same time for about 5 minutes on the display. If so, remove the pump.

I pulled out the pump (in the middle of the dishwasher the white round one. It unscrews to the left.) There was a string wound on the axle and a piece of glass in the channel above. I reassembled. There was an i30 error, as water came off the channel. I sponged the water out and switched it on. It pumped the water in and started.

Eventually the warranty replaced the whole module with motor and pump

At my place I changed the wash pump, it looked ok, winding also ok, perfect. I've been twice to buy a new pump as the cost is £370 and if it turns out not to be the culprit, £379 remains lost.
After replacing it, the dishwasher came to life.

Topic summary

✨ The Electrolux WSL4575RO dishwasher displays an i50 error code after about six months of use, which is not a direct error code but indicates a group of errors related to motor current measurements, Vbat voltage, short circuits, MCU failure, or analog-to-digital converter issues. The i50 group errors can stem from motor winding damage, incorrect motor connection, or temperature limits exceeded. Diagnosing requires entering the service mode to retrieve the exact error code, but this information is restricted by Electrolux policies. Common troubleshooting steps include checking the asynchronous motor and triac on the motor's back plate, inspecting the washing pump for mechanical obstructions (e.g., strings or glass fragments causing axial play), and verifying voltage inputs. Symptoms include relay clicking noises and repeated error beeps. Repair options may involve replacing the entire motor and pump module, especially if the warranty is expired. The discussion also highlights difficulties in self-repair due to manufacturer restrictions and the importance of retaining purchase documentation for warranty claims. Similar issues have been reported in other Electrolux models like ESL8336RO.

FAQ

TL;DR: i50 on Electrolux means a motor/drive fault group, not a specific code; "i50 ... are not error codes." Typical thresholds include b121 mA and 1.5 s. Read the stored code in service mode, then inspect the wash pump and wiring. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153769]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps Electrolux ESL/WSL owners diagnose i50 group faults, decide next steps, and talk to service clearly.

Quick Facts

What does the i50 error actually mean on Electrolux WSL/ESL dishwashers?

It flags the i5x alarm group, not a specific code. The group covers motor current sensing, Vbat voltage, engine short, MCU fault, and DCLink/Vbat ADC issues. "Displayed errors i10...i50 are not error codes; the dishwasher shows the group." Read the exact stored code in service mode. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153769]

How do I read the exact stored error code when i50 appears?

Enter the dishwasher’s service mode to read the last stored error code. The user display only shows the alarm group (i50), not the code. Use that code to guide targeted repair steps. Electrolux recommends this for proper diagnosis and service. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153211]

What do i58, i5A, and i5B mean within the i50 group?

i58: incorrect motor connection by current measurement (b121 mA window, 1.5 s). i5A: thermal model warnings near 120b0C and alarm at 178b0C; recalculates winding resistance vs 22b0C reference. i5B: current must change within 2.5 s (>0.0275 A, wash pump) or 0.5 s (>0.03363 A, drain). Edge case: "B" can appear as "H" on 7‑segment. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153769]

How can I quickly triage an i50 at home?

Try this brief check during the dishwasher’s calibration/test. 1. Start the test and watch the elapsed time. 2. If i50 repeats near the 5‑minute mark, suspect the wash pump. 3. Remove the wash pump and check for axial play before further work. [Elektroda, xeroxhp1, post #19114060]

What should I inspect on the washing pump for i50-related issues?

Remove the wash pump and check for axial play at the shaft. Excess play suggests mechanical wear or obstruction. Correlate with calibration timing: if i50 appears consistently around five minutes, focus on the pump. Replace or service the pump if play or binding is present. [Elektroda, xeroxhp1, post #19114060]

I hear relay clicking and then five beeps before i50. Is that a known pattern?

Yes. A user reported repeated relay “popping,” followed by five beeps and then i50. Document this sequence and any timing for service. Use calibration to reproduce if needed, and gather details for a technician’s diagnosis. [Elektroda, macwita, post #17154140]

Can debris in the pump cause startup failures related to i50?

Yes. One user removed the center white round pump, found a string on the axle and glass in the channel, reassembled, then cleared water from the tray after an i30 leak alarm. The dishwasher then filled and started normally. [Elektroda, Pares1, post #21313412]

Could a three‑way valve cause an i50 fault?

Unlikely. The i5x group maps to motor current measurement, Vbat measurement, engine short circuit, MCU failure, and DCLink/Vbat ADC issues. These target the motor/drive electronics rather than a diverter valve. Focus on motor, wiring, and control. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153769]

What is Vbat here, and why does it matter for i50?

Vbat is a supply rail used by the controller for measurements. The system uses Vbat to measure the motor’s winding resistance. Faults in Vbat measurement or ADC interpretation fall under the i5x group. This affects temperature estimation and protection logic. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153769]

Can I clear the i50 error without the official service interface?

On newer models, error codes can only be deleted using the official service interface. "Error codes in new models... can only be deleted using the service interface." Plan on service access to clear codes after repairs. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153211]

What should I run after repairing an i50‑related fault?

Run the built‑in diagnostics: LEDTest and LineTest. These confirm electronic and line conditions after module or motor work. “After a new series dishwasher is repaired, always carry out LEDTest and LineTest.” Record results for future reference. [Elektroda, Piotr2608, post #17153211]

What ultimately fixed the original poster’s dishwasher?

Service replaced the entire module with the motor and pump under warranty. That resolved the symptoms associated with the i50 group. This path is common when the drive electronics and pump bundle are implicated. [Elektroda, macwita, post #17696049]

I lost my receipt. Any warranty options left?

Return to the store where you bought the dishwasher and request a copy of the receipt or invoice. Provide the purchase date window and product details. The store may retrieve documentation for warranty support. [Elektroda, zibi1971, post #17163209]
