    Hello
I have a problem exporting SMS and contacts from my Microsoft Lumia 532 phone. The problem is that my friend does not know the password of his Microsoft account and I cannot install any export application. How to export SMS and contacts? Can I install the application from outside the store like in Android? I don't even see the possibility of copying contacts to the SIM card. Total failure.

The store does not work because you have to enter a password that your friend does not know.

After connecting to the computer, you can copy contacts and export them, the programs are MOBILedit Enterprise or Phone Copier Express.

Doesn't read contacts. There is no SMS copying option.

It works, but in Lumia the export of contacts only via bluetooth (you also have to connect the Lumie with the mobiledit) and the import only via a cable (despite this error). Such miracles. SMS, in turn, probably only the application that is in Lumia. Then it saves them on the memory card as vmsg files.

What application for SMS? And how can nothing be installed from the store due to a forgotten password?

In Lumia, you have the "Data transfer" application by default. In models that have a memory card slot, after clicking on the lower right corner, there should be an option to export (and import) to the memory card.

Some phones do not have this application, at least immediately after the reset, but it can appear over time. I do not know honestly what it depends on. In any case, it can be used for export if it works properly.

I copied through the SD card. The copy option only appears after a memory card has been installed.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of exporting SMS and contacts from a Microsoft Lumia 532 without access to the Microsoft account password. Users suggest various methods, including using applications from the Microsoft Store, but the inability to access the store due to the forgotten password complicates matters. Alternatives mentioned include connecting the phone to a computer and using software like MOBILedit Enterprise or Phone Copier Express, although issues with reading contacts and SMS copying are noted. Another solution involves using the built-in "Data transfer" application, which may allow exporting to a memory card, but this feature is dependent on having an SD card installed. Bluetooth transfer is also mentioned as a possible method for contacts.
