Hello, I ask you how to connect the central locking controller, the connection diagram from the assembly instructions does not work (connection option pneumatic), I heard that it is done with two relays but I do not know the details. I would like to ask for help. Mercedes W 124

I have a w124 and the locking of the central locking is pneumatic. As far as I know, the driver is under vacuum. I would check if it is operational, check the pump vacum. In the trim of the car everything works very well as long as the shortcuts are properly fixed then they come out sideways. If the vacuum pump works badly, there should be problems with starting and shutting down the engine.

Sorry, but I wrote a little nonsense, I checked it in the car and my memory is failing me a bit. (my star doesn't break down so often :D ) The controller is pneumatically controlled, but it does not take anything from the pump vacuum, but there is everything (the switchboard including the relay and the pump) under the back seat. If there are fuses in the switchboard and when they blow, it is not the trunk lighting, but more often the relay sits, which is hard to check, less often the pump. But I do not remember it well, it was described well in the forum w124. For me, I can't hurt my star and replace parts and don't cut shortcuts.

The point is that there is no original remote and I want to add a control unit with remote controls, I do not want to change anything.

when I connect according to the diagram, the connection of the pneumatic version is not controlled by the pump, so I asked if additional relays should be installed.

sometimes it will control me, but the control cables are heating ... (from the added switchboard)

No data for the car again - because "124" is not everything!
From the note that there is no original remote (and not the "original" one), I conclude that this is a post-92 version.
So the car has receivers for the infrared signal emitted by the key, the signal is amplified in the receiver and it reaches the InfraRed module located near the pump under the rear seat. There, the signal is decoded and controls the central locking pump.
The pump is different than in previous years: there is no round plug with yellow, blue and green wires because there are no contactors in the door. So it is not possible to activate the central locking by turning the key in the front door or the tailgate. So the diagrams to which you are referring are "crush .. to break up" in this case.

Yes you are right :) It is exactly like you are saying just asking how to connect it now :)

This is years ago, but as far as my memory is correct, there is a possibility of connecting to the central locking button on the center console.

I connected directly to the pump and I close the topic.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the installation of a central locking controller for a W124 Mercedes, specifically addressing issues with connecting the pneumatic version of the system. The user seeks guidance on wiring the controller, as the provided connection diagram is ineffective. Responses indicate that the central locking system operates via a vacuum pump located under the rear seat, and that the absence of an original remote complicates the installation. It is noted that the post-92 models have a different pump configuration, lacking the traditional wiring setup. Suggestions include connecting directly to the pump and exploring the possibility of using relays for control. Ultimately, the user resolved the issue by connecting directly to the pump.
