Hello, I have an internet offer up to 300 Mbps.

The guy who assumed it was even over 300 Mbps, but let it be. Upload is on offer at 30 Mbps, and on the speed test it is 35.

And now the question is why the download stays at 150 Mbps? My network card is Gigabit Ethernet, so it should be okay.

It is possible that the cable is at fault and supports up to 150 Mbps? It looks like some element limits the speed to 150 Mbps. [/ Code]

Wait a minute, you signed a contract for 300mbps, did the installer tell you that?

I signed a contract for 300 Mbps, where the contract says that the minimum speed is 50% 300mbps, which is 150.

When the fitter was at home, he said that the internet is over 300, but let it be.

The contract says that the average should be 75% of 300 mbps.

At this point, I have 140-150 mbps.

I use the cable that comes with the modem, and the NIC is rather Gigabit Ethernet. All I can think of is a speed limiter or call the supplier tomorrow.

Do a test on speedtest.net and upload a screen shot. The cable you got with the modem is probably 1.5-3m, so it has no effect on speed.

No. It's the same as HDMI - cable is always the same but devices and standards change. If you are concerned about the connection speed, please contact your service provider.

I understand. Is it possible that the built-in integrated network card does not support this speed? I checked in device manager and chose 1 Gbps, but maybe it was something else.

Anyway, tomorrow I'll call the operator and we'll see what's up.

    Thanks for the help.

The card supports it, because as you wrote above it is gigabit.

All this is in accordance with the contract.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user experiencing slower-than-expected internet speeds, with a contract for up to 300 Mbps but consistently achieving only 150 Mbps for downloads. The user confirmed that their network card is Gigabit Ethernet and questioned whether the issue could be due to the Ethernet cable or modem configuration. Responses suggested that the cable length was unlikely to be a factor, but the user was advised to check the modem settings. Ultimately, after contacting the ISP, it was revealed that the problem stemmed from incorrect modem configuration, which was resolved, resulting in improved speeds.
