    Hello,

I have a problem with the chrome browser. The pages load for a long time, and on the left bottom is the message "I am waiting for (and here page address)". Other browsers (edge, firefox) work properly and load pages quickly. Provided that the chrome is not activated, if it is running, it also shows a similar message, and for example, entering wp.pl takes about 30 seconds. Other computers with the same profile on the same network are working properly. Despite the problems with page loading, the connection speed (checked on speedtest.net) is max, which gives the operator 250Mbps.

    What I've already done:
    - chrome re-installation
    - profile cleaning
    - starting without extensions
    - dns flush
    - various drivers for the network kata
    - connection via wifi / cable with different routers
    - changing the network adapter option
    - many other

Unfortunately, I can not help myself, so I am asking for help :)

    greetings

Download portable versions and check whether the same problem will occur.

Unfortunately, all the time the same. Internet download manager can be a good track. I read that it caused the same problems, but the uninstallation helped. For me, despite the uninstallation is the same, maybe something left after him?

Ok, thanks for your help. I will try in the evening.

Added after 8 [hours] 54 [minutes]:

Neither a new account nor a clean boot helped.

This Internet Download Manager did not give me a break. I installed it again and uninstalled it, it also did not help, but when uninstalling it is information that it changes "Internet protocols". I dug in the forums and actually mixes something with the internet connection settings. I downloaded SG TCP Optimizer, I started as an administrator, I restored the default windows settings, restart and everything is spinning as it should :)

Thank you Kolobos for your time!

Until the thread opened ... I will add that next time I recommend restoring the windows settings (windows10: in the settings is) to factory settings and scan the computer, eg AdwCleaner or create a thread in this department perform FRST log and then restore the factory settings without deleting files. Regards, I hope I helped someone.

Unfortunately, the problem returned after updating the wifi card drivers. It helped reset network settings. The only minus is the loss of all memorized networks along with passwords.

"Select the Start button and then Settings> Network and Internet> Status> Network Reset.
On the Network Reset screen, select Reset now and confirm by selecting Yes.
Wait for the computer to restart, and see if the problem is resolved. "

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around a user experiencing slow page loading in the Chrome browser despite having a 250Mbps internet connection. Other browsers like Edge and Firefox function normally. The user has attempted various troubleshooting steps, including reinstalling Chrome, cleaning the profile, disabling extensions, flushing DNS, and testing different network configurations. Responses suggest checking portable versions of Chrome, analyzing logs with FRST, performing a clean boot, and creating a new user account. Ultimately, the user resolved the issue by using SG TCP Optimizer to restore default network settings after identifying that the Internet Download Manager had altered internet protocols. A subsequent problem arose after updating Wi-Fi card drivers, which was fixed by resetting network settings.

FAQ

TL;DR: On a 250 Mbps line, Chrome showed the slow-loading “I am waiting for …” symptom; “I am waiting for …” flags a hang. This FAQ compiles fixes for Windows users, from TCP defaults to Network Reset. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230130]

Why it matters: It helps Windows users fix Chrome stalls despite fast internet, without reinstalling.

Quick Facts

Why is Chrome slow while other browsers are fast on a 250 Mbps connection?

Chrome can stall while the network link tests fast. In this case, Speedtest reported 250 Mbps, yet wp.pl took about 30 seconds. Edge and Firefox loaded quickly, so the issue was Chrome-specific on that PC. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230130]

What does Chrome’s “Waiting for …” status mean in this context?

It is the status Chrome shows while it waits for a site to respond. The OP saw it persist on many pages. With this status, some pages required around 30 seconds to load. Other browsers did not show the delay. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230130]

What finally fixed Chrome in this thread?

Restoring Windows’ default TCP/IP settings and rebooting resolved the slowdown. The OP used SG TCP Optimizer to apply defaults. Quote: “I restored the default windows settings.” After restart, “everything is spinning as it should.” [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230846]

How do I run Windows 10 Network Reset?

Use Network Reset to reinstall adapters and restore default networking. 1. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status. 2. Select Network reset > Reset now, then confirm Yes. 3. Restart and test Chrome again. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17305981]

Will I lose saved Wi‑Fi networks after Network Reset?

Yes. Network Reset removes all saved Wi‑Fi networks and passwords. Plan to reconnect and re-enter credentials afterward. The OP confirmed this trade-off after resetting. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17305981]

How do I restore default TCP/IP parameters with SG TCP Optimizer?

Download SG TCP Optimizer, run it as Administrator, and select Windows default settings. Click Apply and reboot when prompted. This restored normal Chrome performance for the OP. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230846]

Should I try a clean boot or a new Windows account?

Yes, to rule out third‑party interference or profile issues. The helper advised, “Perform a clean boot,” and suggested creating a new account. Try these before deeper system changes. They do not alter data when done correctly. [Elektroda, Kolobos, post #17230813]

Did a clean boot or new account help in this case?

No. The OP tried both and saw no improvement. The issue persisted until default network settings were restored. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230846]

Will portable, beta, or Chromium builds behave differently from standard Chrome?

Portable, beta, and Chromium builds behaved the same in this case. The identical slowdown indicated a system-level networking cause, not the browser build. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230352]

Can Internet Download Manager (IDM) cause Chrome to load slowly?

Uninstalling IDM did not resolve the slowdown here. During uninstall, IDM noted it changes “Internet protocols,” but Chrome remained slow. Restoring default Windows network settings fixed performance instead. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230846]

Could Wi‑Fi driver updates bring the issue back?

Yes. After a Wi‑Fi driver update, the slowdown returned on the same PC. Running Network Reset again resolved it, at the cost of saved Wi‑Fi profiles. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17305981]

Are FRST logs or system file changes necessary?

Only under expert guidance. In the thread, a helper requested FRST logs to inspect the system before deeper steps. Diagnostics help rule out malware or misconfiguration. [Elektroda, Kolobos, post #17230360]

What basic checks should I try first?

Try the quick checks the OP used: reinstall Chrome, clean the profile, disable extensions, flush DNS, and test different routers and adapters. These steps can isolate environment variables before you reset networking. [Elektroda, caliptr, post #17230130]

Does this apply to a Windows 10 build 17134 context?

Yes. The troubleshooting involved a Windows 10 system with build 17134.1 components. Steps here are relevant to that environment. [Elektroda, Kolobos, post #17230638]
