Hello, due to the fact that I no longer need a computer, because for some time I only work on a laptop, I decided to buy a TV, 32 inches is enough for me (I have a small room). I have an older lenovo t440 laptop without an hdmi port, there is a mini display port. I am thinking of connecting my laptop to the TV via a wireless connection. And I have a question, how to do it most simply? I thought about miracast, but can a regular TV without a smart TV and without a network card be connected with hdmi and usb? and if the laptop connects to miracast is it a wifi connection? so that I will not connect to wi fi to have internet to watch movies from the net ?? I am looking for a wireless solution, thank you in advance

You can connect regular TV with mini display port -> HDMI cable.
How to have miracast wirelessly, it is probably clear that the TV is to have a network card - connection to the network (no matter whether via cable or via wi-fi). If you do not have a router, it is probably a direct miracast option - a phone laptop via wi-fi. But Wi-Fi and miracast are only on Smart TV. If you connect directly, you are unlikely to have internet on your laptop.
You can always buy some miracast HDMI dongle for regular TV, that's also an option.

The miracast dongle allows you to connect a wireless laptop to a regular TV without a smart TV? How it's working?

A piece of a sample product description from the rtv euro agd website:
"PLATINET TV MIRACAST and AIRPLAY DONGLE HDMI WITH ANTENNA
Projector without cables - transmits movies, photos, websites from a smartphone, tablet, computer to a TV set. It works on the basis of a Wi-Fi network, not Bluetooth, which provides a much better range and very low power consumption. "

And this one has the ability to play files via DLNA.
Such a device partially complements the functions of smart TV in ordinary TV.
