Hello, I was looking for a similar topic but unfortunately I did not find it. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 with a Samsung Exynos processor that supports maximum quick charge 2.0. I have the original charger with the original cable, but looking at the charger specifications it has 5V 2A or 9V 1.67 A or 15.03 W and looking at the specifications of other chargers and the general with quick charger 2.0 the maximum power that can be 18W. Is it really worth buying another charger so that the phone can use its full power?

The fact that the standard allows 18Wat does not mean that it is advisable to charge a battery with such capacity with such power. It is not known at all whether electronics will allow this. In addition, these additional 3Wats will give you a slight increase in charging speed (Quickcharge does not use full power at all times). But this can give a noticeable decrease in battery life (but I think electronics will handle this and the 18W charger will charge as fast as this 15W and there will be no difference between them).

Well, the fact is that the current is variable when charging and it is the phone that chooses the right amount of electricity with the right percentage of battery. I am just asking if it makes sense to buy, for example, a charger from Huawei which has 5V 2A or 9V and 2A which can get these 18W maximum. But I was wondering that it may not use this maximum power at all. The easiest way is probably to test and check the time if it really makes sense to look even those 3 In which will make no difference because the phone will not use them.

I had to buy a charger that supports up to 18 W and there is actually a difference with the initial 40% battery, model with Huawei supporting quick charge 2.0
