Hey, I have a problem with the dishwasher, model: Bosch SMS53M08EU dishwasher
Namely, one standard program is set - the one with the highest temperature, and there is no way to change it (child protection is of course removed, so this is not it).
After removing the plug from the socket and reconnecting the equipment, it starts with the same program selected immediately, and it cannot be changed. When you try to change anything, the lights on the buttons light up, but nothing happens. Apart from the contact of the dishwasher, it is also impossible to reset or turn off, only this program is set and nothing can be done.
After starting the program, however, the dishwasher starts to work - after it is finished, this program is set again.

Do you have an idea how to change it ??

Holding the start button for a few seconds does nothing?

Nothing. Pressing each button turns on the diode, but the dishwasher does not respond. To turn it off, you need to disconnect from the contact, after reconnecting to the network, it immediately shows the 70 degrees program and you can not change anything

Maybe someone turned on this program and pressed delay start start?

No ... Neither the reset nor any other button responds. After disconnecting from the contact, it should also be reset, and here, after reconnecting, this program is displayed immediately ...

But holding the start should reset the dishwasher.

I have a question, has the problem been solved?
I have exactly the same in the SPV43M10EU dishwasher, there is one program set and it cannot be changed, now the start button has stopped responding and the dishwasher cannot be started.
    I have corrected TONI_2003

We raise the question. I have exactly the same symptoms as the author of the thread and exactly the same Bosch SMS53M08EU dishwasher model. The problem appeared after 12 years of use (dishwasher purchased in 2009). Anyone help solve the problem?

I also had a similar problem. Adding rinse aid helped. The dishwasher, after opening the door, did not show that it was missing, but just before closing it, a stamp appeared that it was missing. After refilling, it started to work normally.

It helped to add rinse aid

Topic summary

The Bosch SMS53M08EU dishwasher is experiencing a malfunction where it is stuck on a single high-temperature program, and users are unable to change it despite removing the power supply and ensuring child protection is disabled. Attempts to reset the machine by holding the start button or other buttons have proven ineffective. Some users have reported similar issues with other Bosch models, such as the SPV43M10EU, and suggest that adding rinse aid may resolve the problem, as it has helped in their cases. The issue appears to be prevalent after extended use, with one user noting the problem arose after 12 years of operation.
