Contrary to appearances, it's difficult with your budget.
Plasma was 100 Hz, you can buy a 50 Hz LCD for today.

HDR will not be too strong either - basically you will not notice the difference, because the brightness of the panel will probably not exceed 350cd.

In any case, Samsung UE55NU7172 is a good choice, looking through the lens of money and other models on the market.

The remote control looks like the following and there are no dedicated buttons for the image sources:

It looks like an entry advertising a store, but I don't see the store itself? Where does this "tower for free" come from on every TV?

There is a promotion for sale. But there are only 30 turrets left.
The offer is from the store - because where can it be from?

I doubt the electrode would run the store, unless I missed something. So what store might be worth saying?

Edit: I understand that the regulations prohibit advertising here, hence PW.
Thank you for the offer, however, I am interested in statements of people who will present me the best model at a given price, and not just what is currently in stock at a given store, because for such, of course, the best is always what is in stock.

Has there been any professional test with DP60 parameter measurements in the network?
Otherwise we don't compare anything :(

So we have nothing - so we rely on the tests of the weak P60 series from TCL and wait.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around finding a suitable 55-inch TV to replace an older 51-inch plasma model within a budget of PLN 2,000 to PLN 2,300. The Samsung UE55NU7172UXXH is highlighted as a potential option, priced around PLN 2,100. However, users express concerns about the limitations of LCD technology compared to plasma, particularly regarding refresh rates and HDR performance. Alternatives suggested include models from Philips, TCL, Thomson, and Hitachi, with features like free calibration and delivery. The conversation also touches on promotional offers and the importance of comparing specifications and performance metrics among different models.

FAQ

TL;DR: At ~PLN 2,000, 50 Hz panels dominate and HDR peaks near 350 cd/m²; "you can buy a 50 Hz LCD," says an expert. Samsung UE55NU7172 is solid value, but expect basic HDR and no direct source buttons. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17490505]

Why it matters: For plasma owners eyeing a 55-inch 4K TV on a PLN 2k–2.3k budget, this clarifies trade-offs and value picks.

Quick Facts

Is Samsung UE55NU7172UXXH the best 55-inch pick under PLN 2,300?

As a value pick at this budget, yes. A contributor recommended the UE55NU7172 for price-to-performance. Expect a 50 Hz panel and modest HDR impact. The remote lacks dedicated input buttons. Test Smart TV responsiveness before buying. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17490505]

Will HDR look meaningful at this price?

Expect mild HDR. Typical peak brightness sits near 350 cd/m². “HDR will not be too strong,” noted a forum expert. You’ll see limited highlight pop and tone mapping depth. Treat HDR as a nice-to-have, not a showpiece feature, in this budget. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17490505]

How different will motion look versus a 100 Hz plasma?

Motion will look less smooth. Most budget 55-inch LCDs here are 50 Hz. Fast action and sports will show more blur. “Plasma was 100 Hz, you can buy a 50 Hz LCD for today.” If motion is critical, consider stretching budget. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17490505]

Does the UE55NU7172 remote have direct source buttons? How can I switch faster?

No. The remote has no dedicated input/source buttons. You must use the on-screen menu. How to speed it up:
  1. Press Home and open Source.
  2. Add your inputs to the Home bar’s first row.
  3. Rename inputs for quick recognition. This reduces daily clicks. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17490505]

Which alternative 55-inch models were suggested around PLN 2,199–2,499?

Suggestions included Philips 55PUS6262 (~PLN 2,399), TCL 55P6046 (~PLN 2,499), TCL 55S7906 (~PLN 2,199), Thomson 55UC64 (~PLN 2,499), Hitachi 55HZT66 (claimed 100 Hz, ~PLN 2,499), and TCL 55DP660 (~PLN 2,399). Freebies like calibration and a “free tower” were mentioned. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #17490701]

Are those alternatives independently tested in this thread?

No. A member asked for professional tests and parameter measurements for the DP60/DP660 lines. None were provided in the thread at the time. Without measurements, comparisons remain speculative. Seek in-person checks or trusted lab reviews. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17491324]

What was said about TCL P60 series performance?

One member stated we rely on tests of the “weak P60 series” and wait. That signals caution when judging performance claims. Hold buying decisions until you find credible test data. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17491936]

Is the Hitachi 55HZT66 really 100 Hz?

A poster claimed the Hitachi 55HZT66 uses a 100 Hz panel. Independent confirmation did not appear in the thread. Verify the panel spec with a reputable review or the manufacturer before purchase. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #17490701]

Were the “free tower” and other freebies reliable?

They were limited. The “free tower” gift ended quickly during the promotion. Treat such extras as temporary and stock-dependent. Focus on picture quality and usability first. [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #17491189]

Was there a noteworthy discount on Samsung UE55NU7022?

Yes. A PLN 1,999 price for the UE55NU7022 was posted at MyCenter. If still available, it’s a strong budget-friendly option in this class. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #17495202]

Is 55 inches sensible for 4 m seating in a 25 m² room?

The OP sits about 4 m away in a 25 m² room and targeted 55 inches. With direct seating and side light not hitting the screen, that setup is reasonable for everyday TV viewing. [Elektroda, Verona, post #17490498]

If a streaming app is missing, what’s the quick workaround?

Use a casting device. The OP planned to use built-in VOD apps, or a Chromecast if an app was missing. Casting covers app gaps and lets you stream from your phone. [Elektroda, Verona, post #17490498]

What should I prioritize if built-in speakers don’t matter?

Shift focus to the screen and system. Prioritize picture quality, Smart TV responsiveness, and fast source switching. Your dislikes include poor image, multi-click input changes, and laggy systems. Consider your 1–8 hours daily use and marathon sessions when judging stability. [Elektroda, Verona, post #17490498]

How can I compare these TVs quickly before buying?

Use a structured mini-test in-store.
  1. Match picture modes and play the same cable and streaming clips.
  2. Navigate Smart TV menus and switch inputs to gauge responsiveness.
  3. Watch sports to judge motion, and sample sound if relevant. “We will compare: quality, parameters, equipment, multimedia, scaling, sound.” [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #17491189]
