TCL U50S7906 TV: WiFi Connection with FRITZ!Box 7560 Router - No Internet Access Solution

Best answers

How can I fix a TCL TV that connects to Wi‑Fi but shows no internet access on a FRITZ!Box router?

The most likely fix is to correct the TV’s date, time, or time zone, because a wrong clock can make the Wi‑Fi link show as limited or block internet services. Set the date and time correctly, preferably to automatic, and check that the time zone matches your region [#18991840][#21377632] If the TV does not switch for daylight saving time automatically, manually set the time zone to GMT+2 / Central European summer time [#21029937] Several users reported that simply adjusting the time and date restored internet access on TCL TVs [#21055721]

    Hi,

I have been using the TCL U50S7906 TV for several years, from the very beginning I have been using smart TV by connecting to the Internet via WiFi. A few days ago, the TV suddenly lost internet access. I am using a FRITZ!Box 7560 router.

Resetting the TV to factory settings and restarting the router did not help.
I did not factory reset the router, but I also never changed anything in it.

The TV connects to the internet when I share the internet with my mobile phone.
I checked that the TV has up-to-date software.

Maybe someone had a similar problem with another TV and can help?

    Regards,

    Hi,

Does anyone have an idea what else I could try.
Since the last post I've tried the next things that didn't help:
    - reset the router to factory settings,
    - set the DNS servers in the router to google servers,
    - I changed the WIFI network channel to one that no other network in the area has. Here I use the inSSIDer program. I don't know exactly what to look for when choosing a channel. I tried to make other channels from neighboring networks have the most distant channel numbers.

I'm out of ideas for now.

A bit of a dig, but I have the same on the U49S7606DS model. Maybe someone had an idea? For me, DVB-T started to tear, less on HD channels and more on SD.

Switched to manual no effect. In addition, it works on ap from the phone just like its predecessors. It also works if I create a new SSID on the same AP, but unfortunately only for the first start of netflix ...

Have you solved the problem? I've had the same problem for 4 days. TV Smart Samsung UE40KU6000, Huawei E 5576 mobile router. All possible resets carried out, including remote from Samsung. Manually set network, the operator claims that there is no problem on his part. The TV connects to the network but not to the internet. On another network there is no problem, the internet on other devices works. I have no idea what to do next, everything works, and I have a problem...

Hello, this is a different TV TCL has a different system
Try to check the time zone, time and date, is it set correctly, change the network name to a different one and the password, the router probably does not have a 5GHz frequency, if it is, change it to 2.4GHz or from the phone, how do you share the network, does it work?

    Thanks for the tips.
A miracle happened! In desperation, I disconnected the TV completely in the router app and after a while I tried to pair them again. As if nothing had happened, the internet started working.
Samsung should pay my salary 😁

The TCL TV did not automatically switch to daylight saving time. The effect, as written earlier in this thread, includes: Live network streams did not work. The archival ones worked. The WiFi connection status showed "limited connection". Setting the time zone to GMT+2, i.e. Central European summer, helped

The date and time must be set automatically.

Topic summary

✨ A TCL U50S7906 smart TV lost internet access via WiFi when connected to a FRITZ!Box 7560 router, despite successful connection to mobile phone hotspots and confirmed up-to-date TV software. Attempts to resolve included factory resets of TV and router, DNS changes to Google servers, WiFi channel adjustments, and manual network settings, all without success. Similar issues were reported on other TCL models and Samsung TVs, often linked to incorrect date and time settings or time zone misconfigurations. Several users confirmed that correcting the TV's date, time, and time zone (including daylight saving adjustments) restored full internet connectivity and resolved "limited connection" WiFi status. One user resolved the issue by removing and re-pairing the TV in the router's device list. The problem sometimes resolved spontaneously after extended periods without configuration changes. Alternative solutions included switching to 2.4 GHz WiFi bands if 5 GHz was unsupported. Some users replaced the TV with external streaming devices like Xiaomi Mi Box when unresolved.

FAQ

TL;DR: After 7 hours of troubleshooting, "Date and time, it worked." Set the correct time/timezone (DST), then reconnect Wi‑Fi on TCL/FRITZ!Box setups. [Elektroda, rafalzalewski47, post #20901062]

Why it matters: It helps TCL owners on FRITZ!Box routers quickly restore streaming and fix "limited connection" without factory resets.

Quick Facts

Why does my TCL TV show Wi‑Fi connected but "limited connection" or no internet?

Incorrect system time or a missed daylight‑saving switch can block services. One report showed “limited connection,” live streams failing, and archives working. Setting the time zone to GMT+2 fixed it. The TV had not switched to DST automatically. Correct the time and zone, then test streaming. [Elektroda, mik_u, post #21029937]

What’s the fastest fix? A 3‑step how‑to for TCL TVs

Do this:
  1. Settings > Date & time > Time zone: set your correct region.
  2. Set the date and time accurately (adjust DST if needed).
  3. Reconnect Wi‑Fi, relaunch apps, and test live streaming. “Date and time, it worked.” [Elektroda, rafalzalewski47, post #20901062]

Should I set Date & Time to Automatic?

Yes. One user reported the fix required automatic time. Enable automatic date and time in settings. Confirm the correct time zone. Reconnect Wi‑Fi and test streaming apps afterward. "The date and time must be set automatically." [Elektroda, agadetole, post #21377632]

My clock looks correct. Should I still try Manual time?

Try it. Switch to manual time and disable the automatic toggle. Save, back out, and recheck the connection. Then test an app like Netflix or YouTube. This approach was shared by another participant. [Elektroda, emoemo, post #18994116]

How do I re‑pair the TV with my router to restore internet?

Open your router or ISP app, remove/forget the TV, and re‑pair it. Reenter Wi‑Fi credentials on the TV and confirm IP assignment. Test streaming right after pairing. One user noted, “As if nothing had happened, the internet started working.” [Elektroda, annamikolajczyk26, post #19657371]

After the DST change, live streams stopped but archived videos play. Why?

A 1‑hour DST mismatch can break live streams while archives still load. One user saw this exact split. The TV did not switch to summer time automatically. Setting the zone to GMT+2 restored live streams. Align the clock, then retest. [Elektroda, mik_u, post #21029937]

Will changing Wi‑Fi channel or DNS to Google fix this?

Unlikely for this symptom. One user factory‑reset the router, changed DNS to Google, and picked a clean channel with inSSIDer. The TV still lacked internet. Fixing date/time proved more effective for others. Prioritize clock and pairing steps first. [Elektroda, zatara64, post #17645029]

Why does my TCL work on a phone hotspot but not my FRITZ!Box 7560?

That indicates the TV’s hardware and apps can reach the internet. Focus on router pairing and clock alignment. Correct time settings and re‑pairing have resolved similar cases. Then test the home Wi‑Fi again. [Elektroda, zatara64, post #17631595]

Is this only a TCL issue?

No. A Samsung user saw identical symptoms and fixed it by re‑pairing in the router app. Another post noted a Samsung server outage causing TV issues. So, similar failures can appear across brands. [Elektroda, Molier, post #19659955]

Do factory resets help?

Not reliably. One user reset the FRITZ!Box to factory defaults without success. Channel and DNS changes did not help either. Address time/DST and device pairing first. Use resets only as a last resort. [Elektroda, zatara64, post #17645029]

The problem vanished after a month. Should I do anything now?

One participant reported the issue disappeared after about a month without changes. Document your setup and keep time set correctly. If it recurs, apply the clock and re‑pair steps. Monitor after DST transitions. [Elektroda, bohunmike, post #19656609]

Changing to a new SSID helped only once—why?

A user created a new SSID and Netflix worked only on the first launch. That suggests a fragile state that the SSID change briefly masked. Apply the time/DST fix and re‑pairing instead. [Elektroda, bohunmike, post #18994650]

Should I switch from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz on TCL?

Yes, test 2.4 GHz if you have connection quirks on 5 GHz. Older TCL radios can prefer 2.4 GHz stability. Rename SSIDs if needed to force the band. Reconnect and test streaming. [Elektroda, emoemo, post #19657361]

What’s a practical workaround if the TV still won’t connect?

Use an external streamer like Xiaomi Mi Box. It bypasses the TV’s built‑in network stack. Connect the box via HDMI and Wi‑Fi, then use its apps. This kept streaming working for one user. [Elektroda, zatara64, post #18110450]

Should I contact TCL or AVM (FRITZ!Box) support?

Yes, especially if clock and re‑pair fixes fail. Manufacturer hotlines can be helpful. Provide model, firmware, and steps tried so far. Ask about known issues or updates. [Elektroda, trybulski, post #18094822]
