First of all, check whether the card has any modifications and whether it has a warranty (in Poland), local or in some larger online store - I bought a rx570 aorius from an excavator for my son - I bought a new one in January 2018 for PLN 1,400, I bought it in January 2019 ( that is, 2 more years from the 3-year warranty), now the new ones are above PLN 650 I paid a little over PLN 400, apparently she was digging for 3 months, then it stopped paying off and the expected increase in cryptocurrencies did not come, even if it breaks after these 2 years, it will still happen paid off.

For my part, I will only add that I would avoid:
    Sapphire RX480 4GB Nitro +,
Sapphire RX480 8GB Nitro + (in honor of the cards, the BIOS from the RX580 was loaded because the two original cards were falling apart),
    XFX RX480 RS (4GB),
    XFX RX480 GTR (8GB),
    Sapphire RX580 8GB Nitro +,
because these were the easiest to mod (it came with the core clock and modified the timings and memory clocks).
    As for NVidia:
    GTX1060 Strix 6GB,
    GTX1070 Strix 8GB.
In their case, the core clock is reduced by 100-150 MHz and the memory is increased by 400-550 MHz. The Power limit is also reduced to 70%.
My friends and I did not use other cards in the excavators (some of them were opened by "mines").

It seems to me that the card that kicked someone who cared about the excavators (provided that it was not modified) will work longer than from a computer of some dirty guy who cleans anything inside for the first time, such as tufts of dust are 2 cm thick and something finally stops working or, for example, the windmill is not spinning anymore.

I have been using cards for GPU calculations since it became possible (including mining) and I do not get hurt too quickly, and I have cards that often spin 24/7 from the day of purchase, 2-3 years under 100% load and never they couldn't even see the monitor. The fans do crash sometimes, but as long as the card is clean, it's rare.

They rarely fall completely, when they do, they become louder and make various annoying sounds, and they still spin quite normally. A complete fan pad without external reasons, I can remember one of them.

I've had a 290X since summer 2015 which was probably in the excavator.

Clerk with a "blower". There was a frayed pen mark with a number on the side of the case, hence my suspicion as to the origin. Anyway, it was just after the crash, so these cards were a bit of a mess. I gave 1050 PLN for mine.

But as it was still under warranty and the water block was already being prepared, I didn't care. The air only walked for about a month until it had a water block.

It has been around for a long time on the 1000 / 1250MHz clock (factory Uber mode) and recently 1100 / 125MHz because the performance is a bit lacking.

Before that, I had a HD6990 which I also suspected was in an excavator. She was on the water for a few years and then she sat down.

I think that the "launching" has done a lot in terms of their durability. All components are 30 ° C cooler than air cooled.

I know one miner, I gave him 400A power supply, when the cards fall, they go to the basket.

Probably only low-power miners sell pads.
It would be worthwhile to drown about Miners Merchants, so that no one would buy scrap metal.

I bought RX 570 Nitro + for PLN 500, someone was selling a lot. NITRO + are the best Radeon models. I didn't know that it was the favorite cards of miners, anyway, it was enough to ask if she had a modified bios in the e-mail.

    Reply: ma dual bios

From what I learned before the purchase, the miners cards usually work on reduced voltages with strongly unscrewed fans, which significantly lowers the operating temperatures of the system, minimizes the consumption of electronics (and mainly the consumption of electricity), but significantly increases the consumption of the fans, and I would be afraid of this element the most, and about a modified bios (they write a lot on this topic cheats).

I took care of my RX NITRO + by doing a gentle undervolting and a few percent with the tensions to increase the service life - reducing the performance by a few percent seemed to me a compromise for the ridiculous price of the card. Back then it was not known that the RX 570 would soon be in stores for PLN 700 - they still cost PLN 1300.

To this day, everything works flawlessly, the fans (according to the seller's information) are quiet, the temperature card is as good as possible. Maybe I was lucky

No, I meant the fact that miners modify bios for digging, and then they do not want to upload the original

Due to the fact that if the seller does not inform about it, it is a non-conformity of the goods with the description :D It's not the 90s anymore, we are in the European Union, we have clean tap water and vaccines. Let's call things by their names, this is a scam because software is the same technology and is subject to roughly the same legal treatment as the physical structure of the processor or Windows licenses and is an integral part of the device, in this case the graphics card. So selling such cards with incomplete functionality is a scam

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced by a user who purchased a ZOTAC GTX1070 graphics card, which turned out to be defective. The user experienced problems with damaged fans and a bent card, leading to a series of exchanges with the seller, who mentioned that the cards were previously used in mining (excavators). Participants in the forum debated the reliability of used graphics cards from mining operations, with some arguing that such cards can be a gamble due to potential wear and tear, while others defended their longevity if properly maintained. Concerns were raised about the risks of buying modified cards and the importance of warranty coverage. The conversation highlighted the need for caution when purchasing used GPUs, especially those with unknown histories.
