Hello, I have had a problem with the fan on the card for 3 days. At the very beginning I didn't know exactly what was going on, because when I started running whatever program I heard, that one of the fans on the computer was running at the highest speed. To make sure which fan works on "max" I unscrewed the casing and checked. It turned out that one fan on the card does not work, while the other to reduce the temperature from the card works at maximum speed, hence this noise. I noticed one more thing. In the afterburner program, whether you set the fan speed to 100% or to other fans do not react to it and do nothing. However, in hfmonitor and hwinfo with "fans" options it shows me 0 turns. Does this mean that one of them broke? I bought the card about 3 months ago. I'm counting on your help. Best regards.

If you bought a new card and is 3 months old, do not try but give it away for warranty.

If you undertake a self-repair, you may lose the warranty, which is very important for graphics cards.
If the graphics chip itself fails in the future, its repair is unprofitable, which completely disqualifies such a card. You have a guarantee you give back you get a new one. I wouldn't risk such equipment because of any fan. Advertise.

You can still see if the manufacturer's website has new firmware for your card. If they discovered a problem after the card was released, it's worth checking out.
For example in my firmware came out that the fans are not spinning at all, only start after the chip reaches the appropriate temperature. My card is also from MSI.

Download MSI LIVE UPDATE 6 and check:

I have the latest drivers, probably versions 382 or 385, I don't remember exactly, because I'm not currently on my computer. I had earlier versions of the drivers as they are on the MSI website, but bf1 did not want to work and I was forced to update the drivers by GeForce experience. The nvidi page was also the latest, and the MSI was old from December last year. I have exactly the same as you, that the fan when turning on the computer once turns on and only works when the temperature is higher, but probably in these cards now it is. I will try on these old MSI drivers, only then bf will not work. If that doesn't help, it farts and advertises this card by warranty, because I already had problems with 270 from AMD and I thought that if I bought something from greens I would have peace.

As far as I know, the second fan only starts when the temperature is high. I think you are looking for a problem by force.
I suggest you turn on the cart test and observe the behavior of the fans.

I don't know if I can add youtube video here, if not then delete it. Here it is shown exactly how it looks, it is identical with me, only that I did not play and did not turn the fan myself.

As for MSI, there is something to install below

And at the bottom there are only some extras, nortons, etc.

So then advertise this card or not?

I would advertise - absolutely do not interfere.

Even if you gently turn the fan on and start moving, the situation will probably happen again soon.

Even in this video there is a hint in the comments that this is not a normal situation and someone had a similar case in the GTX 970.
Out of curiosity I checked my card and both ufff fans are spinning :|

You know what I will tell you, I tried to move and for 2 days both fans have been turning normally. If the situation repeats then it goes for the complaint, because I will not always pull the case and manually forcing it to turn. I will monitor for now.

I still have one question, or only MSI had a problem with these fans? Which 1060 company is best to take in your opinion? I thought there would be no problems at MSI.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a malfunctioning fan on the GTX 1060 GAMING X graphics card, which is under warranty. The user reports that one fan is non-functional while the other operates at maximum speed, causing excessive noise. Responses suggest that the user should not attempt self-repair to avoid voiding the warranty and should consider returning the card for a replacement. Some users mention that the second fan typically activates only at higher temperatures, indicating that the issue may not be as severe as initially thought. However, if the problem persists, they recommend monitoring the situation and potentially filing a warranty claim. Additionally, users discuss checking for firmware updates and driver versions to ensure optimal performance.
