Hello, I bought a Google Chromecast from PL distribution, during the configuration there is a message - "This Chromecast device is intended for use in another country and may not connect to your Wi-Fi network" - of course WiFi is not found.

The router is Netia Spot, I changed channels - unfortunately it did not help. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    quote:
Chromecast connected to the TV requires only an HDMI connector, while to control it from other devices (PC, smartphone, tablet), it is necessary to download the application from the manufacturer's website chromecast.com/setup. The configuration of the chromecast is carried out in accordance with the instructions displayed on the device connected to the adapter. A necessary step to properly configure the hardware is to verify the Wi-Fi network and additional options, such as downloading the chromecast plug-in for Chrome.

If it is for distribution pl how can it not see wifi. Do you have google chrome as it writes? What does pc display in configuration?

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

And what does your home wifi have to the country where it is used? As he cannot see the network is misconfigured. At most, there may be problems later, but at this stage your home network should be connected to, at most, there will be no streaming.

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

    Is the device properly configured?

I appreciate your willingness, but I can use google :)

    1. The fact that a shop in PL sells equipment not adapted to PL is a completely different topic. The USA-format power plug comes with a PL / Europe adapter.
    2. It is not possible to configure via PC, only via android.
    3. S7 finds the chromecast, the configuration starts - the message flashes at the very beginning => "This Chromecast device is intended for use in another country and may not connect to your Wi-Fi network"
    4. Chromecast cannot find router / network.
    5. After entering the data manually, it does not connect.

    Added after 5 [minutes]:

    Official instructions (only via android):

Set up Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra
    Plug in Chromecast.
Install the Google Home app Google Home app by downloading the Google Home appon your Chromecast-supported Android device.
Make sure to connect your mobile device / tablet to the same Wi-Fi network that you intend to use to set up your Chromecast device.
If you're setting up a Chromecast Ultra, you can also choose to connect it directly to your network using an Ethernet cable instead.
Open the Google HomeGoogle Home app.
    Follow the steps.

If you don't see the steps to set up your Chromecast:
At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add Set up device Set up new devices.
    Follow the remaining steps.
Set up is successful. You're all done!

"" Go to chromecast.com / setup from the Chrome browser on your computer. ""
    it does not work?
You are to find wifi chrome caste on your device in wifi networks and connect to it and then enter your network details.

"Go to websitechromecast.com / setu" => appstore / google play nothing else
I know the phrase, I am trying to grasp it somehow.

    Added after 53 [seconds]:

My network is not in the list of networks that chromecast finds

Apparently, after the update, the car already works, but I will check it tomorrow and let me know for "posterity".

Ok, so without an android no chance? I have had no problems for over a year. UPC has changed something recently on the network and since then Chromecast does not find my network and gets the same message "This device is intended for use in another country ..."

Turning off 5ghz + turning on channel 8 for 2.4ghz didn't help either

I have a similar problem as in the topic.
How do I turn on channel 8? Where should I do it?

Whats up. Has anyone found a solution to the problem? I manually flew over all the channels from the 2.4 GHz network. My soundbar doesn't connect.

I just had a similar problem. The first time it connected without a problem. Now, after changing the router, when reconfiguring after confirming the code, the destination info for another country and chrome was shown. refused to connect to wifi.
I drank chroma from the tv, restarted it, hold the button until the LED turns white. The name changed to the default and connected without problem.

The router must be set to 5GHz band for WiFi and the automatic channel just like this I won an uneven fight with the US Chromecast

    There is another solution.
In my case, it was necessary to enable UPnP and disable AP isolation.
But beware, there is no such option in the settings on the Huawei B818-263 router.
You won't believe what helped - when connecting / logging in to WIFI, I had to press the WPS button, only then it accepted the Chromecast and everything started to flicker.

Knock on the router - in the wi-fi options, change the region to PL - save the changes - the rest is already on the application side.

First, we reset the device by holding the button on the bottom of the device for about 10 seconds. It is not enough to disconnect from the electricity. After the reset, there is no longer a problem with the message that the device is not working in your country. Before resetting, Home Mini remembers the last connection with the previous router or any settings that may have changed on the router.

You are not glowing connected. Chromecast connects to wifi like any pc, cell phone, tablet etc no matter what the system is. By entering the settings, you have the option of connecting to wifi, where it shows you the SSIDs of all wifi networks around, and you only have to select the network and enter the access password. And that's it. This is not an hp shit niche printer, which you have to enter the network access data through the installer. Embrace and then write without confusing concepts.

I will connect to the topic, well, I have a Chromecast, but I can't install the Google Chrome browser and there are no applications such as HBO Max and Player. (App not available in your country). Is it possible to install these applications from a computer or some other way?
    Thanks.

What will it give, since streaming servers will block transmissions because there will be a foreign IP.
