Surely red should be plus and black should be gnd. I shoot that gray is date - and yellow is date +. Measure with an ohmmeter which pin is which color and you will know 100%

I also have doubts about the wires, so I'll stick to the topic :)

I bought a motorcycle navigation with a holder that is also a charger. A 2-wire cable comes out of the handle - a red and a black cable. The motorcycle has a USB-C socket under the seat, so I have to end this navigation cable with a USB-C plug. I found an old charger cord eaten by a dog on the other end, so I have a USB-C plug with a piece of cord on it. After cutting, it turned out that there are probably 5 wires, but among them there are also red and black. Question - is there any accepted color code standard? If I solder the red from the plug and the red from the navigation and the same black, will everything be ok and charging should work? Can you confuse something? Did someone say something about polarization??? I'm green from electricity, that's why I'm asking ... Please give me a hint.

The standard one you have within the manufacturer, in general there may be slightly different wires.

Here is the pinout of the plug. Just measure which is the power supply VBUS and which mass GND . There is no need to connect individual pins, the appropriate pin connection layout is already on the board.

As you connect only the power supply for you, there is no problem with the proper connection of the rest of the cables associated with inserting the plug in the opposite way.

The best thing to do is buy a USB-C to USB-C cable

Thanks, that clears things up a bit for me.

Buying a USB-C > USB-C cable does not give me much, because I have bare wires without any plug coming out of the navigation charger.

The wire of the cut plug looks like this - black, red and 3 pairs of colored ones.

I'm going to connect the red from the navi with the red from the plug, and the black from the navi with the black from the plug, because the rest is rather data looking at the plug diagram you sent me. I was looking for a USB-C power plug on the net, i.e. a plug and two wires - red and black, but I couldn't find it right away, and I'm in a hurry ...
