I also wanted to build a system, but first I left the recorder running and checked how long it records. The recordings ended after exactly 5 (or 10) minutes. Check with yourself.

This happens in Renault Scenic, Nissan Micra and Leaf, Honda Civic. I have video recorders connected to the power lamp. Works very nicely. It records from the moment the car is unlocked with the remote control until it is locked again. If you turn off the engine and sit in the car, it continues to record, which is sometimes useful.

The camera consumes so little power that when I have the opportunity, I would install a second socket to power it, even from the radio that is next to it.

Remember about the fuse and the current carrying capacity of the circuits, because you can quickly burn up the car.

If you have no idea how to do it, there are two options: (a) you will learn and do it (b) you will pay someone who knows how to do it.
There is basically nothing to discuss further.
