Hello, I have a question. Sometimes, when you move the knob harder, the controller will move itself upwards. I decided to replace the analogue, but after replacing it, the pad started moving upwards all the time - as if it had a short circuit. Can someone tell me what the problem might be? Unfortunately, I have no way to check the voltage.
When there is no analog on the board, the controller behaves identically.

    Hello Friend!!!
You have two potentiometers on this pad. It would be best to check the resistance between the middle and extreme contacts of the left potentiometer.

Hello, I have a similar problem, I have already replaced it with different analogs, Alps replacements, the original ones and it still turns. I tried to calibrate the analogs for 30 seconds, turning the analogs 5 or 7 times to the right and 5 or 7 times to the left and again keeping the analogs pressed for 30 seconds. :( nothing helps, I don't know what's wrong with them

If this happens, you can only suspect that some element on the board is damaged. I have such a pad myself, but a different one for a different console, and after replacing it with other analogs, it also turns right on its own. Such a pad must go to a specific specialist who only repairs pads, because he will find such a fault in a few minutes.

You have broken solder points on the board and probably broken vias connecting the two sides of the board.
For the repair to be effective, you need to solder a new analogue and repair the vias.

Thank you for the tip, come to my bank, they are functional, because they can be desoldered with a desoldering iron :) The grommets are like new, but out of pure curiosity, I will check them, I will ask the customer to provide the controller and I will measure the resistance in relation to the ground, because they work normally, only slightly, they do not run to the side in every game or in the browser, and it is best seen in Windows "game controllers".

As a colleague wrote above, you have broken solder fields, check with a meter if you have a transition on them, you will probably have to wire them, but it is a bit more complicated

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a PS4 controller that exhibits erratic behavior, specifically moving upwards after replacing the analog stick, suggesting a potential short circuit. Users recommend checking the resistance of the potentiometers, inspecting for damaged solder points or vias on the circuit board, and considering professional repair for board-level issues. Calibration of the analog sticks is also suggested, with a specific program mentioned for resetting the zero points of the analogs. Several users report similar issues despite replacing the analogs with various types, indicating a deeper hardware problem may exist.
