I have a ZTE MF283+ router from Orange and it hangs from time to time. I've also read that with newer software I can force bandwidth. So I hope that after the update it would still be possible to use this router. Unfortunately, my soft "stopped" on the software version: CR_ORAMF283+V1.0.0B04 and firmware: BD_ZM8630V1.0.0B11, and the router claims that it does not see the update. I found that the latest software is CR_ORAMF283+V1.0.0B08 / firmware: BD_ZM8630V1.0.0B12.

ZTE did not respond to my e-mail or Messenger, on the CDTI website they want PLN 130 for the update (which is the same or more than the router is worth). On the internet I found only on some website what they want a credit card number, so it also falls out. Does anyone know where to download the software or how to force ZTE in Warsaw to contact me ;) ? I read on another forum that someone took the router to them and picked it up a moment later (and that would also be a great option), but it was before the pandemic ...

    Hello.
I have exactly the same router. And I didn't say what you wrote.
I use an orange card and what operator do you use?
How long does it hang after exactly?
Have you done a hard reset?

Do you get an "Error checking for updates" message when checking for updates?

I have had the router since new and at the beginning it was fine in my opinion, but there were 2-3 connected devices. Now I wanted to use it in another place and there are already 6-7 devices using it at once. I use the router with the Play card (in the past and now). It hangs quite randomly sometimes even every 2-3 hours and sometimes once a day. I did a hard reset, but it didn't help.

No, I got "No new version found"

Now I checked on the Play card, I don't have Orange at hand, but I remember that some time ago I bought an Orange starter for a test and it didn't see the update either.

There may not be a new firmware, because there may be different hardware versions of this modem/router - it's probably the version from the initial ones.
That's how I read it now, the date of publication of the equipment appears 2015, 2016 - there is no update for sure, it's electro-junk without support in the world of electronics.

It is soft for other brands, available OTA only the Orange version does not update online. Previously, people updated by driving to ZTE Polska, but it's rather a game not worth the candle, it's a museum.
Helpful post? Buy me a coffee.

I have hardware version no.1 PCBMF283+V1.0.0 I know it's museum equipment :) it was almost as good as I got it for PLN 1. However, I wanted to give this router some more time to live :) In normal times, I would probably drive to ZTE because it's not far away, but now I wanted to ask them first if there is anyone in the office at all. Unless I'm going to eat something tomorrow...

By the way, I found that the router has Openwrt version snap shot (probably not suitable for everyday use, but someone had to go to great lengths to get Openwrt to work).

I would love to buy a Huawei B535 from the outlet from them, but unfortunately it is not available now. It is now in Play ZTE MF283V, new for PLN 249. Is it newer/better than the MF283+?

I found and more importantly I successfully updated to CR_ORAMF283+V1.0.0B07. There is also a version CR_ORAMF283+V1.0.0B08 which includes WPA2 security fixes. In the Play tab again I have "No new version found". Out of curiosity, I bought an Orange starter, hoping that it would download an update from Orange. And here, surprise, the message "Failure" appears ... does it mean that Orange has disowned this router?

EDIT: After the update, the old problems with the router ceased to exist, I haven't tracked down the new ones yet, I managed to force the band, the router works decently. If anyone needs it, I have the firmware for this ZTE, I can share information where to look for it :)

EDIT 2: Under this link there is a movie :) And under the video there is a link to the software. It needs to be uploaded via TFTP.

Thanks for this post da1k1, it was very useful to me :)
Also stuck with firmware version CR_ORAMF283 V1.0.0B04. This version was sufficient with the ORANGE SIM card; but when I tested the PLAY card, I also encountered random disconnections. EDIT 2 link is a bit exotic but I managed to update to CR_ORAMF283 V1.0.0B07
