    Hi,
I've searched the net and haven't found much. I'm interested in some (relatively) cheap, simple HEVC capable tuner with HDMI-CEC support.
Destiny for grandparents, no Android TV is an option because they won't get it. Thus, 1080p is enough, no network features are needed either.

So far, I have found information in several threads that Ferguson t760i would have such functionality, but the manufacturer does not mention it anywhere. Here and there, there were also tuners under the Tesla brand - but again the same situation, in the instructions for the Duplex T2 and Senior T2 models, I did not find anything about support for HDMI-CEC.

And of course, everyone on the box already has "Supports HDMI-CEC" written in capital letters, and if there is no competent market staff will quickly check it ...

The real world hasn't stopped, but technical discussion on this forum level apparently has.

Since the "producers" themselves do not provide it (in the case of branded Chinese, they probably do not even know it), it is obvious that I count on the answers from the owners' experience - and due to the ongoing migration, many people bought them.

Well, I see that nothing has changed in the popularity of this for a long time, google crashes topics from years ago, I started looking myself and found the Ferguson T75 test some new model, it has HDMI CEC enabled in the menu and the same is mentioned in the manual that you can turn on and off https://ferguson-digital.eu/download/dvb-t/se...Ariva/Ariva_T75/manuals/Ariva_T75_PL_V0.4.pdf They don't brag about it anywhere on the website.

I think I'll buy zgredom online and check, because I can't see any other solution.

@koderr it seems that the whole CEC including the T75 is turning the TV on and off with the decoder remote control, it seems to work https://youtu.be/L2kMEZlqixQ?t=605 although I don't understand it in Italian

I was also looking for such a decoder with HDMI-CEC and I found a very nice device: SENCOR SDB 5005T.
It has a TV remote control with decoder functions. After testing, the following functions controlled by the TV remote control work:
Panasonic TVs - power on and off from the TV, numeric keys, channel list, channel up and down.
Samsung TVs - everything that is in Panasonic and what surprised me and is very useful, you can use the TV remote control to call the EPG from the set-top box, program viewing and recording programs to disk.
In addition, the decoder remote control has four freely programmable buttons (learning from the TV remote control). I tested programming the TV on / off, volume changes and source selection.
So in summary: the TV remote control can be used to control the basic functions of the set-top box via HDMI-CEC. If someone does not have HDMI-CEC on the TV, they can control the basic functions of the TV set from the set-top box remote control through the programmable buttons. Either way, most of the time and for typical TV viewing, it will only use one remote.

And that's the answer I was hoping for. I ordered it, we'll see how it arrives.

SENCOR SDB 5005T arrived, works as expected. There is CEC control in both directions (the TV goes to sleep on the tuner remote control, the TV remote controls the tuner).
The only "but" is quite a long time to wake up from sleep mode.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around finding affordable DVB-T2 HEVC tuners with HDMI-CEC support suitable for non-technical users, specifically for grandparents. The Ferguson t760i is mentioned as a potential option, although its HDMI-CEC functionality is not clearly stated by the manufacturer. Other models from Tesla, specifically Duplex T2 and Senior T2, also lack explicit HDMI-CEC support in their documentation. Users express frustration over the lack of clear information from manufacturers and share personal experiences. The Ferguson T75 is highlighted as a model that does support HDMI-CEC, with functionality confirmed through user testing. Additionally, the SENCOR SDB 5005T is recommended for its effective HDMI-CEC control, allowing basic functions to be managed via the TV remote. Users report satisfaction with the SENCOR model, noting its two-way CEC control, although it has a delay when waking from sleep mode.
