    Rest in Peace
I graduated from electronics technical school and then optoelectronics in Wrocław. In our first year, our high school friends beat us: mathematics, physics. But later, when circuit theory and electronic systems began, things changed. I think it is not a matter of choosing the type of school, but of quality: so that the school presents a certain level. And of course, our own approach, because if we don`t want it, no one will teach us.

If you know what you want to do in the future, there is no point in delaying and just going to a technical school. It is known that the sooner you start doing something, the better you will become at it.

With an engineering degree, you can at least hope to find a job. Without this title, I see it in black. Good luck.

first you need to think about what you want to do, what you need to know and have to do it and whether there are any chances to do it taking into account the realities of the labor market.

I`m writing this because often you don`t have to go to university to do something you want to do, because if you want to repair electronic equipment, for example, you don`t need studies, it would be useful to be able to repair these devices (i.e. have experience) nothing more, of course technical education is advisable .

    Gentlemen, A little more seriously.
I am an electrical technician, I run my own multi-disciplinary design studio.
I want to refer only to a small but important part of your statements.
Namely, it is not the title that makes you an expert, it is not the title that speaks about your knowledge and it is not the title that is the measure. Of course, most people think that the title says whether we are a specialist or not. I deal with many engineers with master`s degrees and doctorates, but an engineer is not equal in his or her knowledge. To be good in a given field you have to be interested in it, and to use this title with pride you have to want and like what you learn.
Based on my humble example, I can say this much, studies are important and since I had to start working and wanted to do what I do, unfortunately I had to devote myself to this work and learning on my own and in cooperation with many engineers, this way I slowly gained a lot of technical knowledge and practical use of it and that was and is my goal. If you approach your profession in this way, you like it and want to do it, then use your academic title proudly and do not discriminate against others, because that is not the point.
To sum up, there are as many bad technicians as there are bad engineers and masters. Unfortunately, it`s a sad reality. Following the paper and they don`t know. It would be ideal to combine these two things.
    Greetings to everyone
Great respect for all technicians, engineers, masters, and real doctors.

I`m in the 4th grade of an electronics technical school, my adventure with electronics practically started at this school, or rather outside of school... I tried to create something myself because even during the workshops, unfortunately, we didn`t do much :( the level is also not impressive in any way, i.e. in math or physics which is at a basic level :( I`m graduating this year and I`m wondering what to do with my life, I was thinking about automation and robotics, e.g. at AGH. I would be grateful for any opinions about the course and this university in particular ;) in practice, however, it is a bit less rosy than in the information (at least that was the case at my current school)

It`s hard to get into AGH University of Science and Technology, the best go there, I have the same problem as you, but I would like to go to a technical university, specializing in microprocessors or electronics :D

Without reading the rest of the statement:
What did the title of technician give me on the labor market and in life?:
answer - NOTHING, only a slightly better start in the subjects (one or maybe two) of the technical university.

This year, at AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, there was still September recruitment, as far as I know, because there were a lot of vacancies...

Priority for professional work during studies. A fragment of my real job interview for an electronics store:
-What school did you graduate from?
    -Electronic technical School.
    -Okay, we can continue talking.

Maybe it`s not a lot of money there, but it`s almost a job in the future. :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the value of obtaining a technician title in relation to college and career opportunities. Participants express varying opinions on the significance of technical education versus general high school education. Many emphasize that practical skills and hands-on experience are crucial for success in technical fields, while others argue that a strong foundation in mathematics and physics is essential for advanced studies in electronics and engineering. Some participants share personal experiences, noting that technical school can provide relevant knowledge for specific university courses, particularly in electronics and automation. However, there is a consensus that the technician title alone may not guarantee job prospects or higher education opportunities, as employers often prioritize practical skills and relevant experience over formal titles.
