    Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 32" Sharp (UMC) smart TV model 32BG3K which is a full HD model. It started turning itself on at random, and so I got hold of an identical mainboard online, and replaced it in the TV. It appears to be from a model with an HD ready screen, as now the bottom 1/3rd of the screen is now just colorful patterns. Put the old board back in, and it displays the full screen with a picture.

Does anyone have the firmware/software for the 32BG3K that I can use to flash this new board? Hoping that will fix it.

As an aside, with the Sharp UMC models, I spent ages to get to the service menu and it turned out you need to press MENU followed by 11471147, then it would pop up.

I have included photos of the back of the TV and of the screen model number and current software version, model and chassis. Hopefully someone can help!

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, it is an identical board, both are marked TP.MS6486X.PB713

The old board needs to be looked at and probably a cpu or memory reball. If it heats up, does it turn on more often on the old board?

Thank you for your reply. The only fault of the old board was it randomly turning on by itself. Once switched off and back on again, it would be fine until it was turned off with the remote control. However, the fact it could come on in the middle of the night is the reason for wanting to change the board.

Both CPUs get warm, but not so hot you can't touch the heatsink. The new board works as it should in terms of turning on and off, just the problem with the display, which I think could be remedied by the correct firmware/software. Unfortunately, UMC/Sharp have not responded to my request to provide it, and I'm not sure I can dump it straight from the existing board without removing the chip, which I'd rather avoid.

I don't think it is worth the cost to repair/reball the existing board, given the age of the TV, but if I can fix it with this replacement board then that would be good enough for me :)

I understand. Indeed. It seems to be a batch. It goes into STB state and cannot be woken up. It could also be the inverter or the power supply itself
