How to Increase Voice Output on Hshun 60W 12VDC PA Annunciator—Add Amplifier?

I recently purchased a cheap Chinese Hshun Annunciator (pa system). The speaker is an alleged 60w, 12vdc. The speaker has two sets of wire leads, one set for power and the other for a microphone. When speaking into the microphone with power ON, audible voice output is too low. Should I add an amplifier? If so, do I connect it to the power leads or to the microphone leads?

Roger, are you using the microphone that came with the PA system? I'm wondering if you have the correct microphone. I found several ads for a Hshun Annunciator and they show a companion microphone.

No, I'm using a CB type microphone. The microphone that came with the Hshun Annunciator provided a little more volume, but not much more! All in all, I'm stuck with low volume. And yes, I turned the volume control on the original microphone all the way up. Can you help me? Not knowing electronics very well, I'm very hesitant in using a preamplifier, an audio amplifier or a regular amplifier. As a power source for the speaker, I'm using my 12-volt car battery. Should have plenty of amperage for the speaker.

It seems you new PA system is defective. You might want to return it for another one.

Thanks, David, for commenting. I bought two(2) identical Hshun Annunciators. Both have low pa voice volume. I was hoping to improve this. Surely, something can be done?

It sounds like they shipped defective units or the batteries are not installed correctly and the supply voltage is low.
