I'm just getting my feet with signal processing and electronic circuits, so I thought this project might be a great hands on approach.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to do the following:
INPUT(Joystick, Mouse, Keyboard) > PC > OUTPUT _via usb_ (PPM Signal) > R/C Radio Transmitter _via Buddy Link_
So I want to be able to control a radio controled aircraft with the joystick, keyboard, and mouse.
At this point I'm just trying to formulate a plan of attack before I continue more research and finally begin.
My educated guess tells me that if I can figure out the PPM signal of my R/C transmitter for each function on each channel, I could then replicate that with my PC and output a PPM signal into the buddy link to make the r/c transmitter think its hooked up to another r/c transmitter. Can anyone help me out with the plan of attack? I'm not sure the feasibility of this approach and how hard it would be to reverse engineer the existing r/c transmitter and then be able to convert output to PPM.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
