5V to 6V DC/DC Conversion?

I am working on a USB Stereo Amplifier, but my IC requires 6V to work properly (I am using a LA4525). Optimally, I would just boost the power from my usb port from 5V to 6V, but I may need to do something more elaborate, like boosting 5V -> 9V then 9V -> 6V with a regulator. I also saw "(this)":http://usb.brando.com/usb-to-6v-voltage-booster_p00092c042d015.html, but it is a bit much for what I am doing. I am both a hobbyist and a newbie to all this, so any advice would be appreciated, and specific IC's and Regulators numbers would be even better.

Since I'm not a power supply guru, I had to do a search and came across this "thread":http://www.electro-tech-online.com/electronic-projects-design-ideas-reviews/114072-4-7v-6v-dc-dc-boost-converter-circuit.html, see comment #4, on doing somewhat the same thing. The "link":http://www.scribd.com/doc/12593359/usb-to-6v-0 references a document by ON Semi that uses an "NCP3063":http://www.onsemi.com/PowerSolutions/product.do?id=NCP3063 (1.5 A, Buck Boost Inverting Switching Regulator) in a "USB to 6vdc 0.3A USB CHARGER" circuit. Be very careful with usb supplies There is a limit to how much current you can draw from a USB line If you exceed this limit you could damage the motherboard make sure you check the specs first before connecting
