How 50HZ machine run on 60Hz ?

Can you please tell me i studied
flux=v/f
and flux must be constant for a machine otherwise there is over fluxing/under fluxing in the machine. may be machine core get saturated.

i am not understanding how a machine run on both 50HZ and 60HZ without changing voltages so the flux will not remain constant in the machine.

I presume the device is a drill or some other relatively simple device that is not very sensitive to frequency changes. Many motors will run different speeds on 50 vs 60 cycle. It will change speed approximately 17%. That really isn't an issue with something like a drill that is very low geared, possibly as low as 200 rpm. 200 or 165 rpm doesn't make much difference to the drill bit.

so it means in a small machines we have flexibility in frequency???]
and in large machine it must follow constant flux scenario.

I know of no rule that can be followed like small vs large. It depends on the device and speed control scheme used. Some controls may be freq sensitive while the motor is not. Slightly more power is pushed through a 60 Hz vs a 50 Hz device as well, so some may work fine if designed for 60 Hz and used with 50 Hz, but if designed for 50 Hz and used with 60 the device may tend to overheat. Some devices have different connections for 50 vs 60, I know of a welder that the input power would be wired two different ways depending on Hz. The idea I'm sure was to make sure the welder didn't overheat at high power settings while maintaining good performance at lower inputs. That welder had digital controls so it seems they had no problem getting around the Hz question with the digital controls. The only rule I can advise you to go by is look at the manufacturer data for each device. That's probably not the answer you hoped for but a good reason to stick to the known reputable manufacturers as they are much more likely to have that data available.

The drill is designed to work on a wide range of frequencies the 50/60 for motors and if you see on some test equipment it will say 48 to 62 or more . It the case of test equipment the transformer converts to dc . As Chuck said it runs s.lower on 50 than 60. As for constant flux it what the transformer must be designed for a range . If you look at output transformer on valve (tube) amps there is a range of frequencies 10hz to 30khz the saturation happens when the voltage is to high the primary and core saturates. In power system out side of Europe and USA voltage move around much more as does frequency . In the USA frequency is fixed very close to 60.000 hz but the voltage will move up and down . Close enough to run clock off of . In the real world flux change is norm not the exception planing for that range is what has to be done.

The speed is the major difference when using different frequencies. With Drives this becomes a mute point. The problem may arise when using fixed voltage and frequency. Most motors design for 50 Hertz will have no problem running on 60 Hz. Again the point is the motor's rated speed will change. As Chuck said - about 17% higher. A 2 pole 50 Hz motor runs about 3000 rpm but at 60 hertz it will run about 3600 rpm. The problem arise when you want to run a 60 Hz motor on 50 Hz. The motor does not have enough Core material (metal) to deal with the flux issues. More Hystersis amd eddy currents - thus the motor will over heat and become toast as we say. So 50 to 60 Hz okay 60 to 50 Hz not okay
