guys i want to make a project that involves pulse input of either sinusoidal or square wave and frequency of the pulse is made available to a lcd display as output using microcontroller.... plz help
Convert the input signal to a square wave, then to a pulse. In the microcontroller code, count the number of pulses in a given unit of time (S, mS, uS, depending of the range of frequencies to be measured) and then display that count to LCD. The number of pulses/unit of time is the frequency in Hz, kHz or MHz depending on unit of time.
thanx bt i know the process.....problem is that how to design a circuit for the same and what microcontroller should i use plus the source code is also required....i dnt have sufficient data
The easiest uC to learn and program is the Picaxe, because you can program it in BASIC. It's available in sizes from 8 to 40 pins, depending on how many in/out ports you want, and has a variety of built-in functions, I think including a counter for applications such as yours.

Search criteria = pic & micro & frequency & counter
Always search Google first lots of projects on their All foc all unpaid for hence why so many people out of work "Good isn’t it " "Good idea as to what’s going to happen to the all big companies soon No business Close The doors "
"No Training, "No Money Close the Doors !" apart from which most test equipment will all be done via WebPages You will plug you unit in to laptop, open a website Job done All coming !!
Apart from power supplies that I think will be possibly all that’s left by the time this is over Even the General appliance side is changing All or most of this will be Ip addressable meaning Interactive control via smart phone or via the net , PDA etc
So you know where the futures are now Its software embedded systems and networking software hardware orientated plus all controlled via webpage , smart phone Most of us have worked this one out already
We reckon this will get to the stage where you wont even be able to switch your TV on or satellite or DVD on without internet access Authorization via the net
Not too far off approximately 2 years from now if that the way this is moving plus of course You can tell the speed of communications due to the level of investment already in fiber optic cables which are going in all over the place in Britain So its moving faster and faster and faster Martha
