A silicon ingot, which should contain 10^16 aluminium atoms/cm3, is to be grown by the Czochralski technique. What concentration of aluminium atoms should be in the melt to give the required concentration in the ingot ?
So from equation Kd = C(solid)/C(liquid) , segregation co-eff Kd (Aluminium) = 0.0028
I got C(liquid) = 3.57E19 atoms/cm3 as my concentration
Question is, If the initial load of Si in the crucible is 60 kg, how many grams of aluminium (atomic weight 26.98) should be added ? The density of molten silicon is 2.53 gm/cm3. Im really confused about how to do this. Help.
