I am contemplating a final year project that I could complete. I am thinking of doing a automatic valve tester using the Raspberry Pi and matlab.

What do you guys/gals think of this? Do-able? Any things I need to consider?

Michael, this sounds like a great project.

Is the valve an electron tube or is it a valve for fluids?
