555 Timer Circuit

I am a beginner to electrical engineering.
While setting up a circuit to control the speed of a motor using a 555 timer in bistable mode, I had some trouble deciding on the pull-up resistors, leakage resistance and leakage capacitance. The motor is rated 12V, 0.5A. Please advise on the values to be used.

A 555 timer IC cannot drive a 6 watt motor directly. A motor driver circuit is needed between the 555 and the motor.

A push-pull circuit consisting of two MOSFETs is an example of a motor driver.

This is the suggested circuit. The output from the 555 goes to the base of the transistor.
