Hello,
I have a question regarding a design for a RF amplifier of an FM radio that I had found on this site. I am not very well rounded in circuit design (my specialization is telecommunications) and hence, my question will be quite basic. The circuit in question is found via the following link:
http://www.eeweb.com/blog/circuit_projects/rf-preamplifier-operating-in-band-2-vhf-range
My questions include:
1.) I don't understand some of the symbols in the circuit. What is the circular symbol all the way on the left side?
2.) This may already be answered by #1. Where would the input signal be? And how about the output? I do not see anywhere on the diagram for either of these parameters.
3.) There's a switch in this circuit in the upper right corner. However, how do I determine how quickly the switch needs to close and open? In addition, why is this switch even in place?
Overall, I am hoping to be able to model the performance of this circuit in PSPICE. However, it's rather difficult to model the circuit if one does not have a thorough understanding of all of the components involved.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
