I am not an engineer, but I am in need of an engineer to design an electronic system involving sensors. This system is much like the one you see in convenience stores where people walk in and you hear a chime, but I need many modifications that complicate the system (more in the direction of people counting purposes). It also must be able to connect to a server so as to update an SQL database anytime a change is made. This is for a personal R&D project to determine if hardware is a good choice for what I'm trying to achieve. It needs to be as small as possible and as inexpensive as you can make it.
