How to connect ac ground to dc ground ?

Hi friends,
I am working on a project , i measure some of electrical characteristics of a led driver,
i am using ARM to measure that uses DC voltage but i am measuring voltage of a driver that is using AC voltage .

i want to know how should i connect the AC and DC grounds to each other that is standard ?
should i connect the grounds directly or i should use a particular circuit between them ?

Hi Amin,

You need an isolation transformer for that case in order to ensure safety of your equipment.

AC ground is a return path of the system that should be connected to the main circuit.

DC ground is a reference path which is usually connected to earth ground assuming that it is in a zero potential.

You can also check the NEC Standard AC-DC Grounding.
