Hi everyone,

I have a circuit with a 12v fan that's powered by a 14.3v power source. How can I determine what resistor I need? also, I would like to put a fuse on there to protect the fan, how can I go about doing that as well?

the fan is model no HT-07530D12. .30 Amps

You are looking to cut down the excess 2.3V at 0.3A, you need something like 7.5Ohms resistor and given the current you will need atleast 2W resistor.

So you need 7.5Ohms/2W resistor in series with the motor and the power source. However given that it is a motor you could use anything between 5ohms and 10ohms / 2W and it should do just fine.

For the fuse you can use anything more than a 500mA fuse.
