Okay where do i start... I'm a total beginner

I have a Pic18f1220 and i wish to know the "contents" of the chip.
Then i wish to understand what it is trying to do... and if possible modify the "code"

I have bought myself a Pickit 3 and downloaded MPLab but i'm still totally lost..

I live in Rotherham UK .... don't hold that against me..... face to face might be easier
But any advice / guidance / any help gratefully accepted

Hey, you can only save the hex file but you can not make any changes to the code or to see at least that has been built, so it is not worth wasting your time better and try searching with code examples that you want them to do!
